The Piano Works Farringdon

Set in a Victorian listed building, this place is a fusion of industrial underground and classic music. Sit down, stand up, sing, dance and drink at this place. Not in the area? The Little Scarlet Door

With notoriety already gained thanks to Fulham sister bar The Little Blue Door, alongside The Little Orange Door and The Little Yellow Door, The Little Scarlet Door brings a sexy edge to Soho. With interiors that scream maximalism, a quirky cocktail menu and fame gained in none other than Tatler magazine, this venue makes no apologies for its slick, metropolitan edge. Map Maison

Situated on Kingsland Road and boasting the largest collection of Japanese whisky in Europe, Map Maison is a great choice for signature sips in East London. Head inside, where you'll be met with dark furnishings, chic booths and a plethora of spirits - with all sorts of drinks masterclasses on offer too. Thirsty? Opt for a Wild Fashioned made up of Havana Anejo, Angostura bitters and brown sugar molasses.


Located in the iconic Sea Containers is Lyaness, the flagship bar from the multi-award-winning Ryan Chetiyawardana. It's a stunning, sleek spot with baby blue walls, plush velvet sofas and a statement dark marbled bar. Each table is decorated with individual lamps which make for an intimate affair come evening, paired with draw-dropping views of St Paul's. The drinks menu features weird and wonderful ingredients to make up bespoke tipples such as the Palm Tree Daisy, made with Oyster Honey and tropical wine, plus the Chestnut Rabble featuring beeswax. 


If you haven't tried Silverleaf's incredible concoctions out for yourself, you are really missing a trick. Discover the collaboration between whisky emporium Milroy's and slick City hotel Pan Pacific; where Tom Dixon-designed interiors meet slick service and award-winning drinks. What's more, the hidden bar Alba within this venue offers whisky or cocktail tastings and an intimate space for private hire.

The Coral Room

An elegant salon bar inspired by the 1920s, The Coral Room is a vibrant location in the heart of Bloomsbury. Not only do they have a pretty garden area, but the venue itself is decked out with plants and artwork by Luke Edward Hall, designed as a whole by the acclaimed Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. For everything from cocktails to afternoon tea, this beautiful spot has got you covered.

Bar Crispin

One of the best bars in London city centre, Bar Crispin is a Soho favourite boasting a cracking selection of natural wines and tasty bar snacks to boot. You can expect some seriously sultry interiors here too, with great tunes in the background to create the ideal atmosphere for a night out with friends or your other half.

Callooh Callay

Named in the Top 50 Cocktail Bars three times and the International's World's Best Bars four times, Callooh Callay is a quirky, cocktail favourite, where talented bartenders mix up some of the most imaginative concoctions in London. Filled with plush furniture, decadent colours and moody lighting, this bar packs a punchy atmosphere with plenty of areas to mooch around and even a mega nostalgic Pokemon-themed menu.

Laki Kane

La Goccia

For swoon-worthy sips in Covent Garden, head to La Goccia. As well as its gorgeous botanical interiors and pretty outdoor terrace, you can find a selection of hand-crafted cocktails on the menu like dark chocolate martinis or the Apple Star. And if you're hungry? Munch on Italian small plates such as fried chicken with creamy lemon sauce or doughballs dipped in gorgonzola.


Taking its inspiration from Latin America, Viajante87 is a stunning cocktail bar flaunting dark, sultry interiors and plush booths for relaxing with a drink or two. Tucked away down a staircase in Notting Hill, this intimate is perfect for date nights, serving quirky twists on classic cocktails and flavourful small plates.

Diogenes The Dog

If you're in the mood for premium sips at one of the best wine bars in London, none do it quite like Diogenes The Dog. With a dynamic wine list and options from global winemakers, they not only have a far reaching menu, their pretty interiors, cheese plates and service are high-end with a comfortable feel. Even more impressive, this independent bar has won awards for the venue itself and their shop.


Dripping in glamour and luxury, Fitz's is a bar taking things up a notch. Found at Grade II listed hotel Kimpton Fitzroy London, you can expect a trip back in time with stained glass, decadent cocktail mixes and Victorian curiosities strewn about the place. Their Theory Of Colour cocktail menu, featuring 14 original drinks, is also a unique gem that you won't want to miss. If Gatsby throwbacks and martinis are your vibe, then this one is for you.

Shrub and Shutter

There's 25 years of experience in the cocktail industry at this South London cocktail bar. Shrub and Shutter is the work of Salts of the Earth cocktail consultancy and creates inspired and unique drinks, using little-known ingredients, along with food by Norfolk chef, Farrow. This spot is also a listening bar, a Japanese-style venue where drinkers listen to vinyl music as they sip.

Four Quarters Elephant and Castle

Run by Thea Cumming and Lucie Massey, Dona Bar is a celebration of community, empowering feminine energy, creativity, and of course, the smokiest of serves. If you're not tempted by the drinks? We'd be surprised, but you should also go for the pink en masse.

Homeboy Islington

On the hunt for trendy bars in London? With a vermouth-led menu created by the Spiritland team, Supermax is something or a rarity in the city. Hidden below Happy Face Pizza, this venue celebrates all things Italian culture - not only in its love of vermouth, but interiors that sing of 1970s Milan, with a playlist dedicated to Italo pop. Little Bat

Brought to you by the same minds that own Shoreditch secret spot Callooh Callay, Little Bat are all about bringing premium drinks to Highbury and Islington. A staple with cocktails in the front and a dining room at the back, their master mixologists are putting together high-end blends in darling vintage coupes, with ingredients spanning from beetroot and dill to cherry brandy. Signature concoctions? Expect these to set you back a reasonable £13.

Behind This Wall

Behind This Wall is a secret spot in Hackney, found down a narrow staircase on Mare Street. This Lo-Fi bar is a paradise for music-lovers, thanks to a Tannoy Gold sound system and minimalist decor that encourages you to really focus on the tunes. As for drinks, expect botanical cocktails and mezcal-infused blends, alongside local oysters and tapas plates.

Connaught Bar

Famed hotel The Connaught is home to some seriously stunning bars. The Connaught Bar promises opulent, silver interiors and some of the sleekest cocktails around, including martinis served from a trolley, as well as being voted number one by 50 Best Bars in 2021. And if you fancy something a little different, check out the equally gorgeous wine bar, Red Room, on offer at this hotel.


Inspired by 90s icon Pamela Anderson, this Dalston haunt slings out soul food and all sorts of fun cocktails in simplistic surrounds. Think plum and pecan-infused brandy, passionfruit with rum or vodka and jalapeno blends, alongside more classic tipples like picklebacks and limoncello.


Sunday Development Sessions

If you're all for award-winning drinks, the French-inspired Coupette are serving them up - with a particular penchant for Calvados. A humble and romantic spot in Bethnal Green, this is a venue not only made for date nights, but for those looking to try concoctions with real flair in the city. Favouring the art of simplicity above all else, they're a true example of what makes a classic cocktail bar in London.


Located on the bustling Rupert Street in Soho, Paradise is pretty much as its name suggests. Think minimalist interiors, Sri Lankan small plates and incredible cocktails - such as mezcal margaritas, white guava negronis and a rambutan and curry leaf daquiri.

Scarfes Bar

Stylish and seductive, Scarfes Bar is situated in Holborn. This destination is decked out in artwork from the well-known Gerald Scarfe, pairing perfectly with low-hanging lights and colourful furnishings, in addition to shelves filled with over 1,000 antique books hand-picked by a Portobello antique dealer. As for the drinks, the talented team are whipping up creative cocktails to suit every palate, with regular live music to keep you entertained as you sip.
