A circus-themed venue, Trapeze is something of a Shoreditch institution. Split into two levels; the ground floor is a cool bar area with a crafty cocktail list and a regular array of dazzling performances while downstairs you'll find DJ sets pumping out beats every weekend.

The whole place is decorated with colourful patterns to reflect the theme, and you can expect to see regular aerial acts and other dazzling shows. Fridays promise a hip hop, RnB and Afrobeats night, while the Saturday spectacular is more house and commercial-focused. And don't think they've forgotten about Sundays either, as they host a free Blast From The Past event, complete with throwback hits until 2.30am.

Barrio Shoreditch

Queen of Hoxton

Floripa

Gigis Hoxton is cool bar and restaurant by day and a raucous basement club by night. Head on over for a wild evening on the tiles dancing to cracking sets from world-class DJs or live music performances And if you get thirsty? The cocktails are pretty killer.

The interiors here are totally unique, including bold, hand-painted murals by Kate Philipson and pretty plants hanging from the ceiling. What's particularly striking is the lengthy bar, made from smooth green Wasabi stone.

They serve all sorts of quirky concoctions, from the bubblegum-flavoured Hubba Bubba to an Ice Lolly Palooza or their popular Caprisunha, served in a pouch. What's more, they offer bottomless brunches, karaoke and killer packages for birthdays and other events.

Nikki's

A late-night cocktail bar that's full of sass, Nikki's is a vibrant party destination on Hoxton Square. It flaunts quirky decor, like a mirrored ceiling and a pink bed upstairs, with plush velvet booths along one wall where you can sip creative drinks.

Signature sips include the fruity Club Tropicana or a London Lady, made with dry gin and elderflower. There are cracking happy hour deals if you arrive before 9pm, and they even host bottomless brunches as well.

TBC

The Book Club, also known as TBC, is an unassuming venue housed in a former Victorian warehouse. It's spread across two stories, with a Brooklyn loft-inspired aesthetic on the ground floor and a dark, sultry club space in the basement, complete with its own secret room at the back.

Expect sets from local DJs and wild parties on the weekends, to be enjoyed with a beer or cocktail in hand. For a little added entertainment, they've also got ping pong, darts, pool, shuffleboard and foosball.

Q Shoreditch
