That's right, spring is finally springing. After one of the wettest winters ever, we're glad to see the sun shining at the end of the tunnel. So that you can make the most of this lovely month, we've put together a guide to the best things to do this April in London.

Pop-Up Ceilidh Balham

Fiddle Paradiddle are hosting a pop-up-ceilidh in Balham, taking place at The Bedford. They hold these events on a monthly basis, promising a lesson in all things ceilidh - including all the traditional dances and some more modern ones.

Rambutan

Mid-April in London calls for something a little celebratory, and this year Rambutan is marking the Sri Lankan New Year in style. On Tuesday the 14th of April, the restaurant is hosting a one-night-only Fried Rice Party - a lively tribute to the traditional start of the rice harvest season. Expect a menu that goes well beyond the everyday, with a line-up of short eats curated by some of the industry's most exciting names. Guest chefs include Nick Bramham, Elliot Hashtroudi, the BAO team, Songsoo Kim, and Chloe René - each bringing their own spin to the celebrations.

Alongside the guest dishes, fried rice takes centre stage in all its forms, making this a carb-lover's dream with serious chef credentials behind it. Downstairs, things get even livelier. The bar will be transformed into a bustling Arrack Bar, serving up cocktails and snacks throughout the evening, perfect for those dropping in for a drink or settling in for the full feast.

BAO Noodle Shop

If your April plans need a little spice (and a freebie or two), this one's worth clearing your calendar for. From the 14th of April to the 9th of May, cult favourite BAO is teaming up with sustainability pioneers Wasted for a limited-edition dish that's as thoughtful as it is delicious: the Wasted Ragu Ramen.

Available across most BAO locations (with the exception of Soho and Borough), the dish champions low-waste cooking without compromising on flavour: a comforting, slurp-worthy bowl that gives ingredients a second life in the most indulgent way. But the real date to know? Wednesday the 15th of April. Head down to BAO Noodle Shop Shoreditch from noon, where the team will be giving away 100 bowls of the ramen and 100 Banana Split cocktails completely free. There's just one catch: you'll need to bring your own chopsticks to claim your bowl - a small ask for a seriously rewarding lunch.
