The Thieves

  • Location: 51 Lavender Gardens, Clapham, SW11 1JW
  • Price: ££
  • Best for: cocktails, games, and immersive nights near Clapham Junction
  • Why we recommend: less than five minutes from Clapham Junction, The Thieves brings you a night out like no other - part pub, part bar, part adult playground

Inside this multi-floor Battersea beauty, you'll find everything you need for a proper night out: craft beers, creative cocktails, and the kind of energy that keeps you out past your bedtime.

Start with Balans' bold and brilliant food before hitting The Thieves Gambit - a huge gaming arcade packed with pool tables, darts, and retro consoles. Downstairs, themed parties and cabaret shows run late into the night, from Ultimate ABBA Parties to Disney brunches.

The Clapham Grand

A beautiful theatre that has been converted in a cool bar and club close to the station, Clapham Grand is an absolute institution in South West London. This place has been around since 1900, and to this day it hosts some of the city's quirkiest events.

Expect everything from stand-up comedy to whacky, singalong film screenings and drag nights, as well as regular live music. These always end in a party, with a fully stocked bar to keep you fuelled.

The Red Setter

The newest addition from the Urban Pubs & Bars group, The Red Setter is a lively venue situated on Northcote Road. Perfect for casual drinks with friends or a tasty group meal, this spot is dishing out international eats like baked Cyprus halloumi, Korean fried chicken, pan-fried stone bass and more, and they serve up a pretty great brunch too.

The Crown, Battersea

Lunch Special and 1 other offer

Lavender Hill boozer The Crown is a top choice of boozers, promising a welcoming atmosphere and a wide variety of craft beers, cask ales and local gins. The interiors feature exposed brickwork, plush leather seating and wooden furniture as well as TV screens showing live sports.

There's a charming courtyard garden that's ideal for alfresco food and drink. On the menu? There are a number of juicy smash burgers and plant-based alternatives, as well as loaded fries.
