The Oxford Cambridge boat race is a beloved spectacle steeped in tradition, but it’s not just for the elite - it's open to everyone. On 4th of April, more than 300,000 fans will flock to the banks of the River Thames to witness the fierce competition between the two universities.
With the race route stretching over four-and-a-quarter miles from Putney to Mortlake, it’s a perfect opportunity to join in on the excitement – all for free. Though the men's race starts at 2.20pm, the action heats up much earlier, as the riverside comes alive around noon with fan zones, lively pubs, and plenty of food, drink, and entertainment. Whether you’re a die-hard sports fan or just looking to soak in the atmosphere, here’s where you can catch the Cambridge Oxford boat race in London.
