Vegetarian meal was lentils, lentils and more lentils. The chef definitely isn’t a vegetarian. Very bland! The other meals were ok, service at the beginning very slow until one of the girls realised we weren’t being attended to and was then extremely lovely so thank you whoever you are. In normal circumstances I might have got up and left. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2018-04-15

Nice, intimate atmosphere in the jazz room and good music. Good service and nice food in the restaurant. My partner's salad didn't live up to its billing as the key ingredients were a bit minimal and £2.75 for a glass of peanuts was a bit steep. But, by and large, it was great to be back at The Bull's Head again. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2018-04-01

Our visit on Saturday 10th March was disappointing on a number of levels. The menu at The Bull's Head bore no relation to the much more inventive menu, including more vegetarian and fish dishes posted on the website on which basis I had booked a table in the first place. Service apart from that of the Manager, who was very professional, was lacklustre. The food when it arrived was satisfactory. On talking to the Manager he explained that he had only just taken over the pub and was aware of much that needed to be done and I hope that he is given every help to do so. Not great. Sofas in the middle of the dining room had a very noisy group drinking which disturbed dining experience. Service unattentive. Drinks came late. Welsh rarebit flavourless. Sorry but downhill from previous enjoyable experiences here. Shame. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2018-03-11

Had a great night at the Bulls Head. Service was really great and thoughtful. What was concerning was that it seemed like a lot of the options on the menu were not available (it was only 8pm). Would definitely go again. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2018-03-10

Not a great experience I’m afraid. When we arrived we were not greeted welcomely and we were shown to our table without any menus and were not told we would have to order at the bar. When we then ordered our food for a party of four, one of the meals was wrong. No apology was given, the waitress simply sighed and walked off. After the other meals arrived we had to chase the missing meal only to be ignored and when it did arrive no apology was offered. The food was ok, but disappointed with the service which is a shame as having been to other venues is usually much better! Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2018-03-10

Excellent food. High standard of customer service. Restaurant is nicely segregated from the bar but benefits from the pleasant, busy atmosphere or the pub. And the cream on the cake is there is jazz in the adjacent building if that is of interest. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2018-03-08

Not great..booked way in advance for my sons 21st birthday meal then on to see the band after..arrived on time for our table and had to stand and wait to be seated as a member of staff was sitting there..they had told me they would decorate the table with something so I didn’t bring anything and when we sat down I relalised they hadn’t bothered..we waited ages for our first drink and all our courses..all our steaks were very rare and we’re supposed to be medium so had to send them back and wait again..we only had 1young lad serving us who was very lovely and polite and was apologetic ..our cokes were flat and no taste so then we wee told we could only have Diet Coke ...so after all that we were late in watching the band Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2018-02-10

When are the British going to understand that at the prices you charge that it should come with a commensurate level and quality of service.Cutting corners just makes it all so stressful, amateurish and shoddy. Thanks for asking; I am a local resident. My experience was that the service, the management.........was totally pathetic and completely incompetent. All draft beers and lagers were off (no gas) and, after waiting 40 mins for our table from our reserved booking. we walked out......! Who ever runs that pub - and I don't mean the local management - should be sacked in the most unceremonious fashion possible. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2018-01-12

It was a disaster. We received a call about 1 hour prior to the reservation to say there'd been a "gas problem in the kitchen" and we could not be served per the booking. So we then had to find somewhere else to go which was very hard it being New Years Day. It pretty much ruined our day as we had friends staying and couldn't find anywhere local to go as an alternative. A neighbour told us the next day they'd been in the Bulls Head and seen people eating, although this was early afternoon. Even so, it left a bad taste. Or should that be no taste..? Run out of food! We arrived for a late lunch on NY day and surprised to find there was no food available - other than burgers. We were offered a beverage for free (1 star). We were called 10 mins before our reservation to let us know but were already parking up. Luckily a Youngs pub was open around the corner which had very nice food. Hello I'm emailing to say how disappointed we were with our evening at The Bull's Head last night. We booked several weeks before NYE and had booked for a 5-course dinner with champagne and oysters on arrival. Apparently this meal had been cancelled but no-one had let us know. The waitress explained and that was fine except that we had paid £180 in advance for the meal. The proposed menu had been great; the actual menu less so. The champagne and oysters were fine and my son's duck croquettes and husband's sandwich very tasty. I chose the smashed avocado, which should have come with egg but didn't. It was just avocado on rather soggy sliced, white bread with no seasoning at all. My main course was the pickled mushroom salad, which, when it came was just a dish of rocket with gremola, beetroot and pepper. I asked about the mushrooms and was told that the menu had changed and that the mushrooms weren't available. so, my main course for New Year's Eve was a bowl of rocket, beetroot, pepper and a few seeds, costing £14. We then chose our pudding, to be told that we couldn't have pudding, as the kitchens had closed. We weren't told that they were about to close, or we would have ordered earlier. The restaurant was not particularly busy - there were two large, empty tables, so the service should have been very good. The waitresses were very pleasant, but spectacularly unattentive, as evidenced by our not being told that the kitchens were closing. I told my husband how good The Bull's Head was, when I visited in November. I can now honestly say that last night's meal left absolutely nothing to recommend it. unfortunately our Christmas day meal was a bit of a fiasco. Not sure what happened but we had to wait more than 1 hour for starter which was luke warm, main meal came more than 1 hour later and was not what was ordered, mainly turkey and gravy with a few random veg. no time to eat pudding (due to booked taxi) which we took home in boxes. It was all inedible. However we did get a full refund and free drinks and the staff were extremely rushed off their fete and very pleasant and apologetic , so it was an interesting experience! Sorry but I would have preferred to give the Bull's Head zero stars for the terrible service we experienced on Thursday 21 December. We had booked a table for 7.00 pm and also had tickets for a Gershwin show at the jazz club at 8.00. We ordered a main course at 7.10 and the waiter assured us the meal would arrive in good time.; By 7.50 the food still hadn't arrived - we asked a couple of times about when we would be served but didn't get a proper reply. The meal finally arrived just before 8.00 so we had to eat very very quickly, pay and then dash off to the performance next door. We had planned this to be a special Christmas night out, but it was practically ruined because of the dreadful service. We also were not offered any apology for the lateness of the meal, it was as if the restaurant just didn't care. If it hadn't been for the great music (which had already started by the time we took our seats), the evening would have been a disaster. I don't think we will be booking a meal at the Bull's Head again. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2017-12-21

Really nice pub... good food and decent beers. Service was a bit slow though. . We'd booked a table but it still took about 30 minutes before our order was taken and it then took about another 45 mins uses to arrive. But food was good, staff were friendly... I love that the bar is dog friendly too, but the best thing is the music gigs they put on. Excellent choices 😊 Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2017-12-16

Overall, a little disappointing. Whilst the Holst room is beautiful and cosy, and a perfect size for a small party, the service was, at best, disinterested. The staff, although not busy, seemed unwelcoming, disengaged and barely smiled the whole night. And, A real no no , the Glasses were smeary. It was as if they couldn’t care less. It’s a real shame as we came back again this year having been so well looked after the year before. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2017-12-11

Really disappointed during our lunch at the Bulls Head. We are regulars and normally have a good meal in the pub but the service in the restaurant this time was really poor. Even though we were warned our food may take a little longer due to a large group upstairs, it was triple the time we were promised. Every drinks order had to be followed up and one if the meals arrived cold. Food was tasty but we felt really neglected. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2017-12-10

Visited on Saturday night. The service was well intended but not consistent, The starters tasted fine but the venison main course was beyond rare and the potato terrine cold throughout. We sent these back and had a warmer version, served on cold plates -throughout this time, one of the partyhad to wait for their main course. So overall failed to deliver potential. We would have ordered dessert but the staff took too long and we couldn't wait. In the words of one of the staff , had we noticed it was a s**t storm of a night -we had noticed but no real apology for that. We overhead others had not paid for their bill at all. Not sure we would eat there again, Sorry but overall the food didn't taste that good and didn't match the trip adviser expectation, Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2017-12-09

Starter with bread and olives was inadequate with just four pieces of toasted loaf, a very small pot of olives and no butter. Although the main course of calves liver was good there were no other vegetables in the dish. This venue's food was not as good a standard as the Gernimo Inn at Blindley Heath, The Red Barn. My Halloween Birthday evening with 36 friends in the Melrose Room was absolutely wonderful. The room is fantastic , fires were lit at both ends, the tables were spacious, the food was delicious and also a great view of the river. Most importantly it was brilliantly co-ordinated by Chloe who made the whole process completely stress free. She and the outstanding waiting staff made the evening extra special. Well done to you all at The Bull's Head. It was a favourite place of mine when I lived in London and is why I chose it for my "re-union evening" on my first visit back from home in Cornwall. Helpful and kind staff but the food is horrible . We had 3 Sunday Roats , 2 roast beefs and one chicken . Cold plates and the food wasn't very hot . The beef was dry and very veiny , impossible to cut , it's the worst piece of beef I have ever seen on a plate . The patatoes not crispy and undercooked as for the chicken it was cold and just a few drops of gravy . It reminded me of the 1970's horrible pub food served as an extra to accompanied your beer . But as I have mentioned the staff were very nice and did acknowledge the poor quality of the food . We reside in Barnes and the Red Lion Sunday roast it's still the best imeal . Our waitress poured our wine before asking if we'd like to taste it. When my main course eventually arrived my liver was as hard and obviously over cooked. I had asked for pink but I suspect she didn't know what that meant. When we asked for a salad she had to look at the menu to see if there was one. The rest of our food was very good. Hi we eat out regularly, particularly in the area as there are lots of restaurants to choose from . My daughter and I visited the Bulls Head for the first time and came away unimpressed. Long time Barnes resident dining here for the first time. We dined on a Friday evening in August and our impression (being charitable) was that the regular chef must have been on holiday. We had the meat and fish sharing platters to share as starters followed by sirloin steaks, chicken kiev and sea bass plus wine and drinks. All in £200 for 4 covers which we thought was over priced for what we had. The dishes were not well presented. Starters were rather measly in size, just a few bits chucked on boards with cheesy chips. The steaks and chicken came with chips only, no salad or veg. The chips were scattered and chucked on the plates under the meat and so they were soggy. Our friend ate her sea bass but left the veg that came with it as it wasn't great (and she is pescatarian so primarily eats veg). One of the steaks was overcooked and the chicken, whilst tasty, was a little dry. We know we should have we'd said something at the time but we ate relatively late and as our friends had driven some distance they had to get home to their kids so we didn't have time to wait for replacements. Overall, we're not tempted to try this place again. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2017-08-04

It was my birthday meal and wanted it to be special, not so much for me, but for my friends, some of whom had travelled quit a distance to get there. It was 'not bad'. We did however feel a bit abandoned when the quiz started. We had one very young (and perhaps new to the job?) waitress serving 11 of us and there were very long waits of around 10 minutes between (singly brought) teas and coffee that were being made at the bar (what's wrong with the kitchen? - the bar was packed, so of course where was going to be delays) The food was a mix of lovely and just about adequate with the chicken kiev a bit of a disaster- it was so dried up that garlic butter was requested to try to make it juicy. Some desserts were lovely, but I was disappointed by what sounded on the menu to be a luscious blackberry Eton mess; sadly there were no plump berries in existence, just a drizzle of coulis over the cream. In all it was an ok experience but a lack of attention from the waiting staff was the biggest problem Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2017-07-30

Pretty poor really. Booked dinner for 8pm on a Sunday evening and for a place that advertises its roasts, it was disappointing that they only had the one roast - something that only became apparent after taking our order, coming back to ask us to choose something different, then coming back again to get us to choose something different. When it turned up it (roast beef) was practically inedible - clearly it had been sat around all day keeping warm, and the sides had obviously suffered a similar fate. Pretty sure the roast potatoes were of the frozen variety rather than prepared on site. All in all, not what you expect at that price, so we refused to pay and the manager, to his credit, was highly apologetic. So, we paid for our drinks, went to find somewhere else to eat, and then came back for the jazz we'd booked. And by that point only got to hear the last number... bit of a disaster all round. Good music at the Jazz Club (the reason for our visit). We also booked a table there for dinner, where they offered 20% off if you've also bought tickets to the jazz club. That's where the downside comes in! The supervisor, completely lacking in people skills, was very reluctant to honour the 20% discount, interrogating us about our tickets and treating us like petty thieves/naughty children, explaining hidden rules which were most certainly not evident their website. We were sorely tempted to leave, but stayed because this was a nostalgic visit for my husband, after 13 years. Everyone else was very friendly and welcoming. But the rude supervisor really needs some training in how NOT to treat customers. We'll likely come back for the music next time we're in London, but we won't be eating at the Bull's Head. A shame, because it's a nice place. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2017-05-22

Our lunch - half roast chicken and vegetarian wellington was a little expensive (although not for that part of London). However it was hot, well-cooked with a delicious mix of subtly cooked fresh vegetables. My mum really enjoyed it and it was her birthday meal and she is VERY fussy. I had hoped for our free birthday drink on the house as we'd been asked for date of birth's on the booking form but never mind. The Eton mess was a little disappointing however - all the strawberries having been pureed into a cream with sugar rather than left halved and so too sweet. A good meal in a very nice, riverside setting that was busy but not noisy and the staff were very attentive. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2017-05-07

We waited 1.5 hours for our food and about 20 mins for drinks. When we tried to order more drinks we were again kept waiting for about 20 minutes even though there were no customers at the bar. We wanted freshly squeezed orange juice which is apparently unavailable at the prestigious Bulls Head! None of the staff seemed to have a clue what they were doing, although they were pleasant. The chips were definitely not real chips - they tasted like they came from MacDonalds. Mediocre food and terribly inefficient service. This is not what you'd expect from the Bulls Head! Terrible! We have been several times before but this was by far the worst experience. Limited choice of menu. Very long wait for food. Quiche was half warm and half cold. It was taken away and returned suitably warm but was the same piece and not a replacement! Soup was tepid and greasy. We usually attend once a term to celebrate end of term Pilates class. Well it's the first time back to The Bull's Head for quite a while. The food was just OK but not great. My dish was luke warm (a minute or 2 extra in the microwave could have helped a lot). The manager wanted us to buy a £40 bottle of wine before tasting it, that was not good so I settled on a lemonade - protest drink!. We go to some really nice restaurants in and about town and never has a manager asked to 'buy before you try'. Bring back the old management. They were really nice, helpful and fun. You can always tell how the management are by the smiles you get on arrival, and we got ZERO. Their saving grace was a very nice and helpful but rushed waitress. Unfortunately I probably will be back as I like going to see the live gigs there. 3 out of 5 only because they don't have 1/2 a star otherwise it would have been a 2 1/2 out of 5. We were disappointed with this visit. We arrived at about 7.35 and our food order taken at about 8.05. The food arrived at about 8.40. When we had finished no-one came to see if we wanted any desert or coffee. There just did not seem to be any attempt by staff to look around the restaurant and see who needed looking after. I sent my first plate of food back at it was on a lukewarm plate and was not hot at all. All in all, not a good dining experience. The service and attention to diners just needs to be much better to make it worth going back Regards David Clifford Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2016-12-29

We went as a group of 4 and had a great evening with dinner in the dining area followed by live music in the bar, and will be back next year if there is a similar event! The food was relatively good, once we finally got it. We arrived at 7pm, our jazz show started at 8.30pm, but we only got all our food at 8.40!! We arrived to find that much on the menu was sold out or not available as was some of the red wine. Seriously - what was going on in the kitchen? We ordered two portions of scallops, which were burnt so the manager sent them back, and then we waited and waited, and finally cancelled them. Very, very disappointing, especially as we had guests who were so looking forward to trying out the newly refurbished Bulls Head. Busy season but no excuse for such poor service. The food was really good, but the service extremely poor. Waited around 45 minutes for the first course while other tables who had arrived after us were served and our course arrived shortly after we enquired why (suggesting they had simply forgotten us). It took over three hours to serve three courses and we were left with dirty plates sitting in front of us for long periods. The staff were quite unfriendly simply snapping "we are doing our best". Atmosphere in the restaurant was not good as several other tables looked as fed up as us. Given that all food had been pre-ordered by everyone in the restaurant and that the staff were often standing around just chatting, there does not seem any obvious reason why everything was so slow and the staff so stressed. In addition, some of the dishes were not as described on the pre-booked menu (with no explanation). We very begrudgingly just paid the 12.5% (!) "optional" service charge at the end only because we wanted to be able to leave and did not want any argument with the staff about it. Such a shame that what could have been a really good meal was made so uncomfortable by such poor service. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2016-12-25

Average. Several weeks ago we booked for Boxing day and were told we would need to indicate our choices from the special menu. This we did after studying the special menu and I went there to indicate our choices, which were put on the computer. Then, a few days before, we got an e-mail telling us that on Boxing Day it would be the standard A la Carte menu. We were a bit cheesed off but we accepted it. Then, on the day, it was not even the A la Carte menu but a much reduced choice with no starters and the main meal choices were all basic, easy to prepare dishes not at all exhibiting the creativity we usually find in your restaurant. Something went wrong and we would very much like to know what it was. Roger Crossley crosmandr@sky.com Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2016-12-26

Great location. Upstairs room is excellent, great for Christmas parties. Portion sizes were great but the service was slow and the dessert options for Christmas lunch were weak (no chocolate option) Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2016-12-08

As i have not heard back from you I wonder whether you received my comments about my dinner experience from you on Friday 2nd December? I always think it is better if the Company deals with a critisism rather than the client posting something to Trip Advisor. Hence I would appreciate your response. If you can let me know a summary of the issues you had to thebullshead@geronimo-inns.co.uk I will endeavour to investigate and get back to you. as soon as possible. Regards Mahit

Unfortunately after having eaten here before thought it would be as good as last time, however, it was most definitely NOT. What a shame, our table was in a dreadful place, the first course was not served til an hour after arrival and our 2nd course a further hour! Also, the main course was terrible! 4 out of 5 meals were so overcooked, 2 of which weren't eaten, the other 2 were eaten due to needing food! So sadly we won't be going back! 3 put of 4 of us had sirloin steak which was very expensive for what it was and had no flavour. There was so much fat on all the steaks. I think £24 is a lot of money to pay for an 8oz steak of which you could only eat about 6oz. We won't be back Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2016-12-17

Mix up with orders. One person rang and emailed in and canceled his order that day, however the restaurant manager demanded we take his food. From the moment we arrived he was aggressive and demanding (He looked like a stressed man) it meant we did not have a relaxed supper together. I will not be organising a meal from Harrodian againl. The Bull's Head still have not payed back my deposit of £120 :-( as well. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2016-12-12

The Bulls head is in lovely location and has a good atmosphere. Unfortunately I don't think the restaurant is as good as it could be for such a good place. We ate there on Saturday afternoon and waited an hour for the food. The burgers are a pretty safe bet but other items were not so good. The £17 hake dish was tiny but was replaced with.a bigger piece of fish when we complained. Still it was not worth the money and I was still pretty hungry after eating it which was annoying having waited so long. Not much range for anyone on a gluten free diet. Kids meals are good. I booked on line twice - neither were confirmed by email. I then sent email next day asking for confirmation that I had booked. I have heard nothing. When we got to the restaurant they were unable to cope with demand. They blamed a large function upstairs but they have a large function room for functions and should cater and organise staff accordingly. The downstairs was busy but it may be any night however on Barnes Christmas Shopping evening - which they appeared not to have known about - of course they were going to be busy. In the end I asked for some complimentary bread to stop us dying of starvation or getting drunk before we ate. It was acknowledge d that we had waited al long while as we were given complimentary pudding or coffee however the evening was poorly organised and a disappointment - eating so late is not good for digestion. Food was Ok but nothing more. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2016-12-09

Hello, I am afraid I have a number of complaints about the evening. Considering that the pre-choosing of our courses was mandatory for a 7pm booking, we did not get served our first course until after I had to ask for it at 8:10pm. The 'Christmas Feast' side dishes advertised did not come out for the steak courses and had to be chased also. My friend had bought a ticket to the live music which she had to miss out on also due to everything coming so late. There was no table service for drinks, we even had to ask for water. One of my other friends ordered late the night before and was told she had to eat the courses of another friend who had dropped out, which was very bad considering the courses we did choose were not even accounted for, one person did not get the chocolate brioche pudding and had to have crumble instead. I am disappointed because we chose this venue thinking the dinner would be lovely after having a very nicely presented lunch at the Bull's Head in the summer. Hi, I invited business guests to dine at the Bull's Head on Saturday 3rd Dec. I have just the two points ... 1. We stupidly added a 10% tip to the final bill, when some of that was for drinks at the bar before we sat down. The service is meager and I resent paying the equivalent of another meal, so I won't be tipping again! 2. I had the fillet of Hake, which was wonderful, but my guests all had Game pie, the meat in which was apparently 'tough as old boots', but they were reluctant to complain. That's the second less than top quality meal these guests have had at the Bull's Head, so I don't think I can invite them again, which is a shame. I was very disappointed with the evening.I ended up apologising to my guests for a poor choice of venue. The service was very slow. The food orders we had to chase several times. We rather regret ordering deserts. Three of the deserts were crumble and they were all cold. Whether they were cooked hot and went cold or went cold whilst we were waiting for them I have no idea- either way it was unacceptable. The custard that came with the desert you could not describe as custard. It could only be described as a cross between single cream and milk. I explained to the waitress that i could not in all honesty pay the customary gratuity as neither the food or the service were unto scratch. In normal circumstances you would accept an apology and it be left at that- but instead I received a rather strange response "it was a pleasure to meet you' which I took as a rather testy reply. My view is there was no real management presence who could take hold of the situation and the staff were pretty inexperienced. Im afraid I shall not be coming to eat at your restaurant again, which is a shame because you otherwise run a nice pub. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2016-12-02

We had a quiz evening with food - all so good in so many ways 1. waiting staff attentive, quick, and helpful - Sophia and Fabio in particular looked interested 2. Timing of food arriving to us - perfect - we asked for it to be delivered at 20.15 and it was 3. Importantly, the food was excellent in quality, substance (including vegetarian) and quantity. - the hot food was indeed hot 4. The organisers Miles and Elle played their part in understanding what we wanted when we came in to arrange the evenings. They sent us emails, and listened to our concerns when we came in from time to time Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2016-11-29

The good things first. The room was a nice space. The food was OK - feedback to myself was good and bad. The 2 waiting staff were nice and accommodating. The bad things. We were squashed in like sardines - there was space and additional tables were needed. The food took forever to arrive. We sat down at 8pm and the desert was still arriving after 11pm. The plates came in twos and threes and hence it took a long time to serve 50 people. By the time some people had finished others were only just getting served. There were not enough waiting staff to cover the 50 people there and the kitchen appeared to struggle to produce food fast enough. The waiting staff suffered and did not get a tip despite them trying hard. We will not return. Lesson learnt. Shame. Visited The Bull's Head - Geronimo Inns on 2016-11-26
