Aubaine Mayfair

Providing a sophisticated escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, Aubaine is a high-end French restaurant on Dover Street. The gorgeous space is filled with foliage, as well as shelves full of fine wines and cosy booths that run around the walls. Plus, there's an intimate private dining room downstairs that features exposed brick walls and twinkling fairy lights.

The menu is just as enticing as the interiors, including the likes of whole lobster tail spaghetti, beef carpaccio with wild rice and truffle rigatoni. Or if you fancy visiting a little earlier in the day, they serve breakfast here too.

The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel

Famed for their claim that they serve the best Dover sole in London, The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel is well worth a visit. Treat your other half to a meal at the Charles Street destination, where you can enjoy Champagne and sharing stands in the Terrace Bar, or a full fine dining experience in Butler's Restaurant. 

Munch your way through a menu of Hereford-aged beef rib eye, salt-baked celeriac and an-roasted halibut, as well as the famous grilled Dover sole. Save room for dessert though, as the baked vanilla cheesecake is to-die-for.

May Fair Kitchen

Boasting sultry low lighting that sets the mood for a romantic meal, May Fair Kitchen is a unique restaurant that fuses Japanese and Italian cuisines. Step inside this Stratton Street venue to discover their sleek back marble tables, leather armchairs and floor-to-ceiling windows, finished with luxurious floor-length curtains.

They serve a great selection of fine wines, cocktails and sake, paired with their Japanese izakaya-style and regional Italian menus. Tuck into the likes of seared beef in a truffle chilli dressing, Neapolitan margherita pizza or crispy aubergine with black pepper and ginger.

Gymkhana

Inspired by the elite clubs of India where members of high society socialise, Gymkhana is an elegant Indian restaurant on Albemarle Street that was awarded a second Michelin star in 2024. The sleek space flaunts comfy leather booths, dark wooden furnishings and golden lighting, with a number of intimate private dining spaces as well.

They offer a twist on classic cocktails, alongside tasting menus that start from £110 per person. Munch on the likes of paneer tikka with fig and cashew nuts, tandoori broccoli or pink shrimps in a dill raita, with optional wine pairings to add on.

The Dilly

Having been around since 1908, The Dilly is a historic venue that's known for being one of the most luxurious hotels in London. Their elegant restaurant Terrace at The Dilly features a high glass ceiling that fills the space with light, as well as an array of pretty plants and the only outdoor terrace overlooking Piccadilly.

There's also a speakeasy piano bar downstairs that offers carefully curated cocktails and Chapel Down English sparkling wine. Whether you're coming here for lunch, dinner or even afternoon tea, you can expect the likes of grilled salmon supreme, sirloin steak or pea and shallot tortelloni on the menu.

Jeru

One of the best romantic restaurants in Mayfair for couples, Jeru is a stunning Mediterranean eatery that promises timeless dishes with a modern twist. Their fish market features an array of ethically sourced seafood and crudo, while other highlights include chocolate-fed Wagyu ribeye steak, artisanal potato bread with chickpea miso butter or their signature halloumi doughnuts.

Benares Restaurant & Bar

One of the most romantic Mayfair restaurants out there, Benares Restaurant & Bar is a Michelin-starred fine dining destination that specialise in high-end Indian food. Located in Berkeley Square, the gorgeous space features dark furnishings and low lighting - perfect for date night.

The head chef combines his Indian heritage with a love of top quality British ingredients, to create a menu you won't find anywhere else. Think hand-dived Scottish scallops in a coconut curry, goat's milk paneer tikka and pan-roasted duck with puy lentils, paired with expertly crafted cocktails or premium wines.

Ziggy Green

Part of the popular Daisy Green collection, Ziggy Green can be found on Heddon Street, inside a Grade II-listed former cinema. Fronting a white marble bar and tables, sultry low lighting and lots of cosy corners filled with plush leather booths, this intimate venue is perfect for drinks or dinner with your other half.

The restaurant takes its name from the iconic David Bowie, as it's set on the street that as featured on his Ziggy Stardust album cover. As for the menu? expect everything from barbecued tandoori salmon to miso-glazed aubergine and chicken parmigiana.

Ginza St James

A fine-dining Japanese restaurant that puts a modern twist on classic dishes, Ginza St James is a sleek spot for date night. In the mood for a romantic Italian meal? Then head to the iconic Heddon Street to discover Piccolino, a spacious venue that boasts a sunny outdoor terrace at the front. Expect stylish, understated interiors with pastel-coloured furniture and elegant chandeliers, as well as lots of natural light coming in from the large windows.

Chucs Mayfair

An intimate haunt that only has a small handful of tables inside, as well as a small outdoor terrace, Chucs Mayfair is the original venue from this restaurant group. Cosy up in the corner with your date, while looking out over this high-end street, to tuck into indulgent Italian fare.

Their mouthwatering menu includes everything from wild mushroom baked gnocchi to grilled lamb cutlets with dauphinoise potatoes or pizza topped with nduja and burrata. Plus, there are plenty of cracking cocktails to wash it all down.
