Designed as a modern day 17th century East Indian punch house, this is a bar and restaurant in Mayfair that takes its inspiration from the Colonial Indian gymkhana clubs, at which members of 'high society' would socialise and play sport.
As would have been expected by the gentlemen that would have typically frequented these clubs, Gymkhana is particularly refined. With an aged brass bar as its centrepiece, and slatted oak wood panelling, porcelain checkerboard floor tiles and high ceiling fans making up the interior, this is a Mayfair bar and club with unparalleled class that attracts the more privileged members of society.
The bar specialises in punches and cocktails mixed from a sweet blend of Indian spices and spirits; there also exists a specialised Gin and Tonic list, as well as a premium array of Absinthe and Arrak, as well as lagers and Indian Pale Ale on draught and by the bottle. Compiled by Trishna Sommelier and Sunaina Sethi, the wine list at Gymkhana is particularly extensive. For a taste of the past, with a healthy twist of the present, Gymkhana is the place to go in Mayfair.
