Found within a renovated 1960s warehouse in Hudson Yards, In Common brings a casual but delicious approach to morning meals. Commonly considered some of the best brunch in Manhattan, the menu here features whipped ricotta on toast, soft scrambled organic eggs, Italian sandwiches and so much more.

As for the venue itself? Expect relaxed, welcoming vibes and decor that combines natural materials with industrial charm and lots of natural light from the large windows. They only take walk-ins, and their laptop-free policy encourages a sense of community.

2. 230 Fifth Rooftop Bar

This spacious spot features a sunny outdoor terrace filled with plants, as well as chic indoor space where plush couches and natural wooden furnishings await.

Starting from as little as $12 per plate, the brunch menu ranges from billionaire's bacon pancakes to chicken and waffles or a classic avocado on toast. And if you're visiting between 12 and 4pm on weekdays, it would be rude not to add on some happy hour cocktails.

If you're in Queens, look no further than Casa Enrique for a mouthwatering Mexican brunch. Owned by Chef Cosme Aguilar and his brother Luis, this authentic restaurant is inspired by the dishes of their childhood in Chiapas, Mexico, with minimal decor that really allows the food to shine.

They had a Michelin star for almost a decade, thanks to great quality eats like rajas con crema, crispy crab tostadas and chorizo, avocado and bean sandwiches - as well as all kinds of twists on eggs. Plus, there's a charming patio area for alfresco dining.

4. Pastis

A charming French bistro in the Meatpacking District, Pastis has been a favourite since it opened in 1999. The Parisian-style decor includes a curved zinc bar, white tiled walls and vintage mirrors, with handwritten daily specials boards adding to the traditional charm.

They've got a huge brunch menu to choose from, whether you're in the mood for avocado tartine, quiche Florentine or a more American pick of buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup. They even serve fresh pastries too, with coffee or cocktails to wash it all down.

This is a cozy, unpretentious bakery and restaurant that promises warm hospitality, as well as a menu of classics that are influenced by the South, New England, Jewish New York, Mexican and Southwestern cuisines.

This place attracts a diverse crowd that reflects the neighborhood itself, and the lengthy menu offers something for everyone. Think honey butter pancakes, homemade granola or an egg and cheese sando.

7. Russ & Daughters Cafe

Following the success of their stores all over the city, the Russ & Daughters Cafe is a sit-down extension of a business that has been part of New York since 1914. This was opened in 2014 by fourth-generation owners Niki Russ Federman and Josh Russ Tupper, keeping their family recipes alive. The cafe combines old-fashioned charm with modern elegance, flaunting tiled floors, marble counters and a few vintage-inspired touches.

Their menu celebrates “appetizing” - a Jewish culinary tradition focused on fish and dairy, with a meat-heavy delicatessen that has earned them a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide. In the open kitchen, they're cooking up everything from salmon and cream cheese bagels to pickled herring platters or a classic eggs benedict.

Executive Chef Oscar Paz specialises in ingredient-led cooking, creating fuss-free dishes like fried green tomatoes with poached eggs, mushroom and caramelised onion quiche or biscuits in a sausage gravy.

9. Thai Diner

Created by chefs Ann Redding and Matt Danzer, formerly of the Michelin-starred Uncle Boons, the restaurant produces some seriously impressive food, even having been awarded a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide. On the menu? Roti egg sandwiches, tom yum crab omelettes, coconut pancakes and more.

Their menu showcases traditional Mexican flavours, inspired by García's culinary journey over the years. This has gained her a place on The New York Times' “100 Best Restaurants in NYC” list in the past, thanks to dishes like egg and salsa tortillas, chorizo quesadillas and masa pancakes with guajillo chile.

11. Petit Boucherie

Their brunch menu is rooted in French cuisine, from a classic pain au chocolat to eggs Florentine or a croque madame. And whether you're pairing it with a green juice or a French martini, you're guaranteed a sumptuous meal.

13. Ursula

Situated in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, Ursula is a unique New Mexican cafe and restaurant that celebrates diversity and culture. This is owned by chef Eric See, a trained pastry chef originally from Albuquerque who's also a two-time James Beard Award nominee.

They're open from 8am on weekdays and 9am on weekends, bringing you a brunch menu full of hearty plates. Think spicy pork breakfast burritos, blue corn pancakes with whipped sage butter or corn tortillas with fried egg and beans.
