The Three Stags

  • Why we recommend: The Three Stags is a well-reviewed gastro pub, and we know their food hits the spot when it comes to comfort at Christmas. Their a la carte menu this year is a celebration of that English comfort food, and we want to dive right in, including a slow-roasted Norfolk turkey, chestnut risotto, and a braised black angus short beef rib. We like the affordability of this menu too, with two courses at £32.

From candlelit wooden table tops and draught beer to British classics and seasonal ingredients on the menu, The Three Stags is the epitome of a cost Waterloo pub, and a great place to celebrate the festive season this year with friends and family alike. Want something more intimate but big enough for groups? There's also a private dining room with space for up to 50 guests too.

All Bar One Waterloo

  • Why we recommend: All Bar One has that great blend of cosmopolitan wine bar, but casual pub, which makes us think this is going to be a great one for groups this Christmas near Waterloo. They're setting you up with a 3-course menu, plus drinks packages. The menu includes a fun, camembert and chorizo Christmas burger, a classic roast turkey, and prawn cocktail tacos to kick things off.

All Bar One is a more than easy to get to bar and restaurant in Waterloo, with both casual dining and drinks areas, plus private hire spaces if you're looking to try out something bigger and more festive this Christmas. They're a great blend of both laid-back, but professional, and draw in a vibrant after-work crowd every day of the week.

The Victory

  • Why we recommend: If you want a pub Christmas dinner in Waterloo this year, The Victory is a great shout for keeping things classic. They've got a 3 course menu starting from £48 per person, and you'll be able ot enjoy everything from a prawn cocktail and roast turkey breast with cranberry stuffing, to pan-fried seabass, with options for the vegetarians too.

The Victory is one of those great pubs in London that has been able to blend more contemporary offers, with old-school pub appeal. The interiors are a mix of both, where diner-style lighting is mixed with banquettes and cosy dining corners. It's just above the station concourse too, making it easy to get to whether you're just about to jump on a train, or just jumping off one.

BrewDog Waterloo

CHRISTMAS MARATHON QUIZ NIGHT!

  • Why we recommend: This one is a pretty easy recommendation, because it has a slide, but we know you're here for Christmas dinners so we can help with that too. BrewDog have a decently priced Christmas menu this year, starting at £41.95 per person. They're loyal to traditional Christmas flavours, but there's some fun twists, including a buttermilk fried turkey burger with brie and Brussel sprout slaw, with brie wedges and a signature cauliflower cheese on the side.

BrewDog are much more than beer, and their quirky Waterloo site celebrates the festive season well, complete with special beers on tap, a unique party menu for groups, and of course, trips down their iconic metal slide. We think this is a great choice for casual groups, but reckon the slide is a great talking point if you want to take the work crew out for a Christmas lunch too.

Slug and Lettuce Waterloo

  • Why we recommend: If you're in the spirit of keeping things affordable, but really lighthearted this Christmas, we'd definitely recommend heading to Slug & Lettuce. It's super close to both the station, and the waterfront, and their Christmas menu is really great for groups. Check out the menu for festive burgers, and festive mac and cheese, along with Christmas pudding bites and of course, turkey for the traditionalists.

Slug & Lettuce Waterloo is very well known as an after-work favourite in the area and known nationwide for its creative cocktails and great prices. It's got happy hour on the regular, has a great and accessible food menu, and the interiors have plenty of party personality. This is a must-stop for friends and groups.

  • Why we recommend: this cosy space is an excellent choice for Christmas parties, and they've got a delicious thee-course festive menu on offer for £34.95 per person. This features the likes of boeuf bourguignon, spicy sweet potato curry and chocolate fondant, which you can pair with high quality wines.

They offer a wide range of French food, focusing on authentic dishes with a modern twist, and you can even catch glimpses of the Shard from their rooftop terrace.

✨ Christmas with The Chapter Collection 🎄

@ The Duke of Sussex, Waterloo on Various dates from Friday 5th December 2025

  • Why we recommend: We not only like that The Duke Of Sussex is letting you pick between two or three courses this year, but we also like that they've gone wholly British with the options, which suit nicely in the pub setting. Menu items we think might be of interest to you include English wild venison, turkey with all the trimmings, of course, and a winter cheese board. There's also a Christmas pudding espresso martini up for grabs.

  • Why we recommend: A choice of budget-friendly set menus, mulled wine, a roaring fire and a warm welcome give you everything you need for a cracking Christmas lunch

The Wellington Hotel's old world interiors, all warm wood and exposed brick, are a cosy spot for a pint or two any day of the week. Add a sprinkle of festive spirit and it gets even more magical.

This year, you can see in Saint Nick with your choice of two menus. The Refinery, Bankside

  • Why we recommend:  Three Christmas courses are going to set you back £49.95 at The Refinery, and we love the variety of options for diners. Roast turkey is, of course, on the menu, but you can also try a 12-hour braised oxt cheek, or roast salmon with a rich, saffron sauce. It's a really nice collection of dishes.

The Refinery has always been a sought-after destination for diners in the Waterloo area. Its pretty outdoor dining area is beloved come rain, or shine, with outdoor heaters and blankets come Christmas. Inside? A cosmopolitan bar and dining space with floor-to-ceiling windows. There's hundreds of Christmas parties thrown here each year, definitely due to its excellent service, proximity to the train station, and those gorgeous interiors.
