The Bootlegger Brighton

HAPPY HOUR 🍸| £8 Cocktails | £4 Bottles of beer | £18 Bottles of wine | £20 Bottles of prosecco

Whatever size your party is, The Bootlegger is a great space to host it in. This seafront bar is inspired by the Prohibition era and all things 1920s, promising live jazz, blues and rock music alongside bottomless brunches, cocktail masterclasses and other fun events.

For larger groups, you can hire out either the full venue or a basement bar, with space for 140 or 80 people respectively. Expect killer cocktails throughout, as well as tasty sharing platters if you get hungry.

The Coal Shed Brighton

Push the boat out for your birthday with a trip to The Coal Shed, a town centre restaurant that's filled with dark, sultry interiors and a striking, standalone cocktail bar. Whether you're booking a table in the main restaurant or hiring a private room for something a little more exclusive, you'll be dining in style.

Their menu focuses on seasonal, local ingredients are fire cooking, ranging from wagyu striploin steaks to butterflied sea bream pil pil and sweetcorn ribs. And if you visit Thursday to Sunday, there'll be live DJs playing in the evening.

The Mesmerist

Occurring only once in a blue moon (or once every 365.242199 days to be scientifically accurate), your birthday is a unique time of the year for you. So why not match that by celebrating it in one of Brighton's most unique venues! The Mesmerist is quirky venue inspired by 1930s gin palaces and the steampunk movement. It's decorated with an amalgamation of vintage bits and pieces - bottled trinkets and antiquarian flair can be found in every nook and cranny. Undoubtedly, a birthday spent at The Mesmerist will be hard to forget.

Ancient Mariner

Situated in Hove, the Ancient Mariner is a cosy local boozer that makes for a great party venue. It's got a charming, rustic interior, as well as a spacious beer garden with plenty of seating and colourful murals lining the walls.

You can hire out the space for 100 guests, or 50 seated. There's lots of craft beer to keep you fuelled, as well as a tasty menu featuring juicy burgers, a hearty fish pie and scrumptious small plates like salt and pepper squid.

Earth & Stars

A welcoming pub on the corner of North Laine, Earth & Stars is a top choice for birthdays. The cosy spot is decked out in booth seating, pretty plants and nature-inspired artwork, with a function room and event space upstairs that you can hire out.

They're all about great quality food here, so your party ill be well catered for. Their plant-based dishes range from Korean barbecue burnt ends to a double smash burger or grilled corn ribs, and they even offer fully vegan roasts.

No 32

A stylish restaurant, bar and club all rolled into one - No. 32 is a jack of all trades, master of all! Treat yourself to a hearty beef burger (all of which are aged in-house) before washing it down with a selection of classic and experimental cocktails. Following that, end your night the right way - by doing that awkward dance you do every birthday after having a few too many. (Don't worry, you're allowed to look silly on your big day.)

Freemasons

Whatever vibe you're looking for on your birthday, Freemasons can provide it. This historic Hove boozer has been around for more than 100 years and is the Masonic capital of Sussex, decked out in golden gilding and modern wooden furniture.

Whether you're in the main bar or hiring out the private room, you can enjoy a variety of craft beer and cocktails. Hungry? Kitchen residents Bunny are serving a South African-inspired menu of curries, bunny chow, burgers and more.

The Actors

For an LGBTQ+ birthday venue in Brighton, look no further than a trip to The Actors. Here, they're fronting slices courtesy of Decked Out Pizza Co, a lineup of theatre performances and a choice of quiz or DJ nights to get stuck into with all your mates.
