Tonight Josephine Liverpool

Mother's Day in Liverpool city centre would not be complete without a trip to the pink playground Tonight Josephine. If your mum loves ABBA and likes to think of herself as a bit of a Meryl Streep in sexy overalls, then she'll adore tickets starting from £29 each to the Mamma Mia bottomless brunch. The event is hosted by a wild West End drag star who encourages you to embrace 70s nostalgia and sing Voulez-Vous at the top of your lungs. All you have to do is be willing to take a chance...

Best Afternoon Tea In Liverpool

What better way to spend the 30th of March than with your mum and her favourite thing to do: have an afternoon tea. There's a stellar selection of spots in the city so you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to picking. From sky-high sarnies paired with draw-dropping city views at Panormaic 34, to a Slug & Lettuce's offering featuring a free Chambord Royal, one thing you definitely won't be is hungry with a Mother's Day afternoon tea in Liverpool.

Mowgli Water Street Liverpool

Nothing says thanks for everything like the gift of good food, which is why dinner or lunch at Indian restaurant Mowgli on Water Street or Bold Street should be on the cards this Mother's Day. It's the prettiest haunt too, which is bound to impress, thanks to its indoor rope swings, winding trees and sparkly fairy lights wrapped around the chairs and curled up in jars. The menu is fairly cheap too, which is always a plus. Tuck into the likes of treacle tamarind fries or the house lamb curry for under a tenner, then sip on bespoke cocktails such as the Chai Rum Sling, infused with apricot liqueur.

Gino D’Acampo Liverpool

Gino D'Acampo Liverpool's location is a stunner, boasting an open-plan dining room decorated with neon lettering, glowing yellow lights and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Old Street Hall, not to mention the Sky Bar Terrace with a 360-degree view at the top of the building. Enjoy an afternoon tea, a cocktail upstairs or feast on a special menu for the day, designed to please mums by offering silky ribbons of fresh pasta.

Escape Hunt Liverpool

Solve puzzles and break out of alternative realities together at Escape Hunt Liverpool, located by Royal Albert Dock. Choose from five immersive experiences, ranging from shrinking down to size in Alice In Puzzleland to giddy-upping and fleeing the Wild West. There's even a chance to set sail and uncover Blackbeard's treasure should you be so brave. Afterwards, there's plenty of time to relax and catch up on your travels at the well-stocked bar, so grab a G&T, wine or orange juice and debrief before you head back to the real world.

The Alchemist Liverpool

Does your mum like to be wowed by innovative creations AKA cocktails that are overflowing with bubbles or light up? If the answer is yes, then The Alchemist in the Cavern Quarter is the perfect destination to spend Mother's Day in Liverpool 2026. Head to Brunswick Street on the Sunday from 11am 'til 4pm to feast on fantastical brunch creations and three tipples for £30 each, or add an extra tenner to make it bottomless in the drinks department. Sip on the cherry gin-based Pop Notch or the famous Bubble Bath, all while tucking into a passion fruit pancake stack or 'nduja and avocado on toast.

Cocktail Classes In Liverpool

Does your mum like a tipple or two, but has always wondered how to make her own? Then treat her to one of the various cocktail-making classes across the city. You can get the whole family together and brush up on your tipple skills, then show them off when you get home, taking it in turns to be the bar manager for the night. Fun.

The Brunch And Cocktail Club

Want to treat your mum to delicious food and drink in stunning surrounds? Then take her to The Brunch And Cocktail Club, located in The Ropewalks. The gorgeous spot flaunts floral displays and exposed brick walls, alongside pretty fairy lights and plush green velvet booths.

Swing by in the morning for chorizo scrambled eggs or smashed avocado on toast, with the option to add on bottomless drinks for £40 per person. Or for lunch, there are hot honey fried chicken burgers and loaded fries.

Piccolino - Liverpool

Mother's Day isn't just an excuse for a Sunday roast, although it doesn't hurt. Piccolino is a top-quality Italian eatery nestled in the heart of the city, with a grand exterior thanks to its tall windows and an inside to match. It's split over two levels of dining space, with an alfresco terrace (weather permitting), a menu boasting authentic pasta dishes and, come the weekend, a slap-up roast. On the 30th, enjoy two courses for £40 or three for £45 and wolf down the likes of herb roast Shropshire chicken, Argentinian Angus beef rump and tiramisu for dessert.

Browns Brasserie & Bar Liverpool

If you're looking to wine and dine your mum on the 30th of March for Mother's Day in Liverpool, a menu you're all going to be swooning over is that of Browns Brasserie & Bar. Get everybody involved and tuck into a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings, a root vegetable Wellington, or a chateaubriand to share. Sip on thoughtful wine pairings or a Black Forest Martini for £12.50 in the dining room, decked out with velvety teal chairs plus olive green sofas, lending the restaurant a relaxing atmosphere.

Hawksmoor Liverpool

Take a trip to this renowned steakhouse on Mother's Day. Located in the Grade II-listed India Building and donning decor inspired by the 1920s (think brass-trimmed ceiling lights, antique lamps and reflective inserts on the walls), this restaurant is always putting its best foot forward, and on Sunday the 30th of March, it's no exception. Come for lunch and sling back oysters or roasted scallops, or opt for their iconic Sunday roast featuring roasted bone marrow and onions, plus their house stuffing. Feeling fancy? There's a set menu at Hawksmoor where you can get three courses for £30 each, including sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

Gaucho Liverpool

Famed for its Argentinian steaks and found on the ground floor of a gorgeous Grade II-listed building on Water Street, Gaucho is the ideal restaurant to dine at on Mother's Day if you're looking to wow her. Upon entry, expect to be met with extravagance thanks to its large, towering marble pillars and golden lights. Make your way through to the dining room and prepare to devour the likes of their iconic bottomless roasts (think unlimited Yorkshire puddings, yes please), or opt for a flakey whole-grilled sea bass, accompanied by your choice of side.

Quirky Quarter

Lunching with your mum is great and all that, but how about taking a trip together to the upside down? No, not to The Upsidedown, but the crazy and out-of-the-ordinary Quirky Quarter, located in the middle of the city centre. Here you'll find loads of peculiar photo opportunities to confuse your friends with, as well as interactive puzzles and games. It's a place for the curious and playful, for those who are prepared to discover that nothing really is as it seems.

The Art School Restaurant

The Art School Restaurant is a local produce-first eatery founded by Paul Askew. It can be found in the Georgian Quarter, based inside the lantern room of the former Victorian 1888 'Home for Destitute Children', decked out with 48 red chairs in the main dining room and a Champagne cellar bar. If you're keen to treat your mum to a culinary experience that'll raise the bar, then book a table. Expect five courses for £67 per person, including a glass of Antinori Franciacorta Blanc to toast alongside Lancashire cheese scones and shallot jam. There will then be an amuse bouche followed by starters like slow-cooked, miso-glazed ox tongue and mains comprising of the market fish of the day.
