Hove is getting an all-new vegan restaurant this August. The first of its kind in the UK, Purezza is a plant-based pizzeria with outposts in London and Brighton, serving pizza, cocktails, raw mains, desserts and an entire gluten-free menu.

While 2020 has been a tough year for the hospitality industry as a whole, the Coronavirus crisis hasn't stopped Purezza's new venture. According to its owner, the Brighton site frequently has queues out the door and a three-hour waiting time during summer months, so hopefully its sister in Hove will help to ease the pressure a little.

Since launching in 2015, Purezza has aimed to revolutionise Italian food by using animal-free products and developing a signature vegan mozzarella for its pizzas. Cult favourites include The One With The Nduja, with a white base and crumbled vegan sausage, The One With The Truffle, featuring a black truffle base and smoked tofu, and The One With The Pesto, topped with rich tomato sauce and freshly blended pesto. The restaurant itself is set to be decorated with eco-friendly furnishings that have been sustainably sourced and offer delivery options around the Hove area so residents can experience signature slices without leaving the house.
