Train Strikes London | DesignMyNight

Your guide to train strikes today in London.

Train, rail, and tube disruption has become the norm in London, with ASLEF unions, TFL and the RMT in continuous conversation over pay, working conditions and job security, as strikes continue to roll out across the nation.

With a city harder to navigate, we're sharing more on train strikes near you, and on major networks, as well as great suggestions for things to do nearby.

Which London tube lines are striking?

Elizabeth line drivers will strike over four days in February and March:

  • Thursday, 27th February
  • Saturday 1st March
  • Saturday 8th March
  • Monday, 10th March

This is due to a pay dispute among ASLEF members (tube drivers' union), seeing around 500 walking out during these days.

When are the London train strikes and what networks will be affected?

No train strikes are currently scheduled. Hurrah.

16 train companies are usually affected by ASLEF and RMT strikes, which affect services both in and out of the city. The lines most commonly involved:

Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, Great Western Railway, LNER, TransPennine Express, C2C (not involved in ASLEF), Greater Anglia, Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Southern, Thameslink, Southeastern, South Western Railway, Chiltern Railways, Northern Trains.

How long are train and tube strikes expected to last?

Disruption is difficult to predict, and each network has their own expected level of service. We recommend checking each operator's website for the most up-to-date and accurate information available.
