Bottomless Lasagna Restaurant Senza Fondo Is Heading To Shoreditch

Two hands holding a plate of lasagna.

Senza Fondo's dishes are going to be impastable to resist.

Thanks to the rise of Italian-American cuisine in London, the likes of Grasso and Ria's have become the talk of the (very hungry) town. Then, we saw Lasagneria Italiana go viral for bringing FOMO foodies an impressive 19 different types of lasagna. But this year there’s going to be a new kid on the block – namely Senza Fondo (aptly meaning ‘without end’), set to open on 20th February in Shoreditch. What’s on the menu? The stuff of Garfield’s dreams: bottomless lasagna.

That’s right, this new opening from Joe Worthington (formerly of Hawksmoor and Drake & Morgan) will be a celebration of the Italian comfort food classic. You’ll be able to nab unlimited slabs of the stuff for £20, with options including a slow-cooked beef lasagna, plus a rotating vegetarian choice (which upon opening will be artichoke). If that wasn't enough, in April there are plans to open up a lunchtime hatch, where they'll be slinging out a hybrid lasagna sandwich - the lasangwich.

You'll also find tasty nibbles such as Sicilian anchovies and mortadella with pistachio, not to mention fettucine alfredo, casarecce and mushroom ragu, a sharing-style aubergine parmigiana and, of course, an indulgent tiramisu that we can’t wait to get our mitts on. You'll be able to enjoy all of this in a warm, cosy setting reminiscent of both traditional Italian trattorias and the Italian-American restaurants you'd find across Boston, Chicago and New York.

For those who fancy a drink, make sure to check out the Kevin Lasagna bar at the back of the restaurant, which will be serving classic cocktails (including £5 negronis) and an entirely Italian-American wine list.

Senza Fondo is opening on 20th February at 1 Rufus Street, Shoreditch, N1 6PE. They'll initially be open from 5.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday. Discover more of the hottest new restaurants in London.
