Miokuru
- Opening date: 13th July 2026

Following a recent rise in handroll restaurants, Miokuru is landing in Soho this summer. Created by restaurateur Eliott Grabli, this intimate space will seat only 20 at the counter, providing views of the open kitchen as you dine. The idea is that customers will be visually involved in the cooking journey, and no diners will be forgotten about in a large dining room.
The menu applies Japanese technique to British seafood, featuring dishes like pressed scallops and seared chalk stream trout sashimi - all sourced from Britain as much as possible. The core of their offering is made-to-order handrolls, with fillings ranging from Cornish white crab and wild garlic mayo to glazed and pickled wild mushrooms. Drinks will be kept local too, including sake by Kanpai in London Bridge and beer from Walworth brewer Orbit.

Maki Nori
- Opening date: 3rd April 2026
- Location: 16 Moor Street, Soho, W1D 5AP
- Cuisine: Japanese
- Why we're excited: it takes the theatre and craftsmanship of high-end sushi and repackages it into something faster, more social and more approachable, without compromising on quality
The team behind Maki & Ramen is set to unveil its latest concept, Maki Nori, landing on Old Compton Street this April. Designed as a handroll-led experience, the 60-cover space brings together premium ingredients, rapid service and a strong sense of theatre, tailored to Soho’s fast-moving dining crowd. At its core is the brand’s ‘15-second roll’ concept, where chefs prepare sushi to order in seconds, ensuring each piece is served at peak freshness.
Inside, the focus is firmly on the craft. A 20-seat sushi counter puts the action front and centre, while additional tables and a roaming sushi cart add an interactive layer to the experience. Ingredient sourcing leans premium, from Japanese scallops and sea urchin to Spanish bluefin tuna and Scottish salmon, with in-house dry-ageing and hydroponic herbs reinforcing the restaurant’s quality-first ethos. The result is a format that strips back the formality of traditional sushi dining while maintaining its precision, offering a more accessible, high-energy take on the cuisine.

Look forward to expert hand rolls.
Auguste

Inspired by the rustic cooking of Italy’s Abruzzo region, the restaurant centres on arrosticini - traditional charcoal-grilled skewers designed to be eaten in quick succession with wine in hand.
Bagnall, who developed a connection to Abruzzo while living there, will grill lamb, cull yaw, wagyu, liver and wild boar over charcoal, alongside a tight menu of seasonal dishes and larger plates like whole market fish. Upstairs, the 31-seat dining room is anchored by an open charcoal grill and draws inspiration from the energy of European bistros, while a more intimate downstairs bar focuses on classic cocktails and low-intervention wines, with a strong showing from Italian producers.
Auguste will feature Abruzzese cooking.

Nestled in the legendary W11 address formerly occupied by Casa Cruz, this opening swaps the traditional gastropub feel of the group’s siblings for a 'hint of Hollywood' sparkle. It’s an Italian concept that aims to capture the same cinematic allure found in London’s most exclusive dining rooms.
Though the full menu remains a closely guarded secret, the early glimpses suggest a masterclass in Italian comfort elevated to an art form. Expect refined classics like aubergine parmigiana, silky fonduta agnolotti, and a rustic yet polished chicken vignole.

CeCe's is coming to Notting Hill.
Willet's
- Opening date: late March
- Location: 75 Sloane Street, Chelsea, SW1X 9SG
- Cuisine: British
- Why we're excited: by bridging the gap between high-end hotel dining and the intimacy of a local favourite, Willett’s is set to become Chelsea's most coveted new invitation for those who value character as much as culinary craft
The Cadogan is trading formal white tablecloths for the soulful charm of a British bistro with the upcoming arrival of Willett’s. This new flagship residency brings a relaxed, neighbourhood energy to the heart of Chelsea, leaning into the timeless appeal of seasonal British produce executed with polished simplicity. It’s a sophisticated pivot for the historic hotel, offering a space that feels as suited for a long, wine-fuelled lunch as it does for a refined evening bolthole.
The menu at Willett’s is a love letter to the British larder, spotlighting heritage ingredients with a focus on provenance and flavour over fuss. You can expect a refined yet approachable dining room where the heritage of The Cadogan meets a contemporary, bistro-style warmth.

Holy Carrot
- Opening date: Friday 20th March
- Location: 61-63 Brushfield Street, London, E1 6AA
- Cuisine: plant-based and vegetarian
- Why we're excited: designed with Studio Toogood, the space pairs raw, utilitarian materials with expressive artwork, shifting from relaxed daytime hangout to candlelit evening spot
Vegetable-forward favourite Holy Carrot is heading east, opening its second London site in Spitalfields this March. Founded by Irina Linovich and led in the kitchen by executive head chef Daniel Watkins (ex-Acme Fire Cult), the restaurant has spent the past five years building a quiet cult following for ingredient-led cooking rooted in seasonality, live fire and fermentation. The new opening marks the next step after its Notting Hill success, bringing its near-zero-waste ethos to one of the capital’s most food-obsessed neighbourhoods, with a menu that broadens the plant-based focus to include new vegetarian dishes alongside its established veg-led plates.
The Spitalfields site will also introduce a dedicated on-site fermentation vault, sitting at the heart of the kitchen’s flavour development, where by-products like bread trims and vegetable peelings are transformed into pickles, misos and sauces. You can expect all-day, bistro-style dining led day to day by head chef Maria Criscuolo, with dishes shaped by fire-cooking and global street-food influences, from koji flatbreads and changing pies to pizzettas from a new oven and grill-led vegetable plates.

Maki & Ramen
- Opening date: 6th March 2026

- Why we're excited: this is a beloved franchise across the UK, and it's finally getting its moment in Soho - they're even offering 35 ramen to the first 100 people between the 6th and 8th March
After years of building a cult following across the UK, Japanese dining brand Maki & Ramen is finally setting down roots in the capital with a standout debut in Soho this March. The 3,200 sq ft space on Old Compton Street, once home to La Bodega Negra, is being reimagined into a lively 110-cover restaurant and late-night bar, with natural timbers, neon accents and an open-plan layout.
On the plates, expect a broad spectrum of Japanese comfort fare, from black garlic tonkotsu and 'hell' ramen bowls to halal steak tataki ramen, salmon teriyaki and inventive sushi rolls, alongside vegetarian, vegan and halal options that signal a truly inclusive menu. Complementing the food is a spirited drinks lineup of Japanese beers, matcha, bubble teas and theatrical cocktails.

Now Open - February's Highlights
Napoli On The Road Soho
- Opening date: late February 2026
- Location: 140 Wardour Street, Soho, W1F 8ZT
- Cuisine: pizza
- Why we're excited: not only has Napoli on the Road earned major awards at its Chiswick and Richmond spots, such as Europe's Best Pizzeria in 2024 and 2025, but the man behind it all, Michele Pascarella, was also named World Pizza Maker of the Year in 2023. With such incredible credentials behind it, you know that the more central Soho location is going to be incredibly popular - especially as this new opening will be offering a unique seven-course pizza tasting menu
What started out life as a roaming pizza van in 2016 (in a classic Piaggio Ape, no less), Napoli on the Road has gone from strength to strength - later opening successful restaurants in Chiswick and Richmond, which earned the brand numerous awards (including Europe's Best Pizzeria two years in a row, impressive). Now, they've set their eyes on Soho - due to launch on Wardour Street this February.
The venue will spread across two floors: the lower half offering a casual a la carte dining format reminiscent of their Chiswick and Richmond restaurants (make sure to try the Ricordi d'Infanzia - the holy grail of pizzas, topped with slow-cooked beef ragu, basil and Parmigiano Reggiano fondue, that has helped win them their long list of accolades). The upstairs, on the other hand, will add a little fine dining flair with their new seven-course tasting menu (£100 per person, with a drinks pairing included). This will explore all things pizza, including techniques, textures and bases, with a few extra Italian dishes thrown in for good measure.

We're incredibly excited to be able to eat Napoli on the Road's slices in Soho.
Cometa
- Opening date: now open
- Location: 19-23 Charlotte Street, Fitzrovia, W1T 1RW
- Cuisine: Mexican seafood
- Why we're excited: it's always exciting to discover a new Mexican eatery, and we love Carousel's work
Brought to you by the team behind Carousel, Cometa is a contemporary Mexican seafood restaurant from brothers Ed and Ollie Templeton. It's found on the former site of Carousel's wine bar, featuring understated, modern decor with its oak tables, terrazzo floors and custom carpentry.
They use only the best quality UK day-boat fish and seafood from their longstanding suppliers. Dishes range from sea bass with mole verde to Maldon oysters and lobster in smoked butter. And on the drinks front, they serve three signature margaritas.
Bambi 2.0
- Opening date: now open
- Location: 1 Westgate Street, Hackney, E8 3RL
- Cuisine: modern European
- Why we're excited: Bambi has been a favourite of ours for a while, and we can't wait to see what more space allows the vinyl-forward venue to do, especially with food from Jamie Thorneycroft
London Fields' favourite Bambi is getting a major glow-up. After snapping up the space behind them, the restaurant and record bar is expanding into Bambi 2.0, doubling its size with a new mezzanine, extra tables, and more room to soak up the sun in the front courtyard.
Jamie Thorneycroft, formerly of Lagom, is taking over the kitchen, bringing a charcoal grill, dry-ager, and a fresh menu that includes chalkstream trout tostadas and butterflied whole bream with coconut saffron sauce. The party energy is being dialled up too. DJs will now spin every night, with weekend mini raves once the tables clear for dancing.

Bambi 2.0 is coming.
Forza Wine Soho
- Opening date: 22nd February 2026
- Location: Manette Street, Soho, W1D 4AL
- Cuisine: European
- Why we're excited: Forza Wine at the National Theatre and Peckham have always been our go-to destination for a group dinner, thanks to its delicious sharing plates, so we can't wait to see what its Soho location has to offer
Forza Wine are at it again. After winning Londoners over with their Peckham rooftop and that slick follow-up at the National Theatre, the team are now setting their sights on Soho. They’re moving into the former Daroco site, bringing with them a signature mix of buzzy vibes, killer cocktails, and Italian plates made for sharing.
The new spot isn’t short on space either: think a roomy terrace perfect for al fresco sipping, plus a sprawling downstairs bar area just waiting to be filled with negroni-swigging crowds. While they’re keeping tight-lipped on exact plans, expect the same winning formula: concise but crave-worthy Italian small plates, a wine list leaning into low-intervention bottles, and cocktails that put margaritas and negronis front and centre.

Hell's Kitchen - Gordon Ramsay
- Opening date: February 2026
- Location: The Cumberland Hotel, Great Cumberland Place, Marble Arch, W1H 7DL

Their existing menus feature the likes of foie gras, pan-seared scallops, Gordon's signature beef Wellington, steaks and much more, so you can expect similar from the London location, with a few extra additions.

The celebrity chef is opening his first London site for Hell's Kitchen in 2026.
Osteria Vibrato
- Opening date: 26th February 2026
- Location: 6 Greek Street, Soho W1B 5PB
- Summary: Italian cuisine at its best - 'unapologetically simple', and served in intimate surroundings
From the same man as The
Laughing Heart comes Osteria Vibrato. This
time, Charlie Mellor joins forces with sommelier Cameron Dewar
(formerly of Luca and Burnt Ends) and has also collaborated with
Gaia Enria (Burro e Salvia founder) on the menu, which seeks to
give a sweeping view of Italy's regional diversity.
Bringing a vibe as soulful as its name, which is a musical term referring to undulating, rapid changes in pitch by a vocalist, this restaurant pays tribute to classic Italian cuisine; from smaller dishes and antipasti to Brodo di Vasto (a seafood stew from Abruzzo). Expect a small dining room lit by candles, featuring red leather seating and terrazzo floors, alongside an intimate 12-seater cocktail bar to the rear.

Charlie Mellor and Cameron Dewar head up this anticipated Italian restaurant.
Temaki
- Opening date: February 2026
- Location: 11 Maddox Street, Mayfair, W1S 2QF
- Cuisine: Japanese
- Why we're excited: the loss of Temaki in Brixton was felt across the city, and we can't wait to be able to dive into their delicious Japanese menu in a swanky new setting
After it closed its doors in Brixton last August, popular spot Temaki is coming back with a bang. Their new Mayfair venue has been highly anticipated, and it will be larger than the original, with a ground floor bar that seats 16 and a downstairs space with room for 28.
This is inspired by Japanese listening bars, a popular concept in London right now. As for the food, you can expect temaki rolls, of course, alongside crispy rice, A4 wagyu sliders, sashimi and sandos. On the drinks front, there'll be plenty of sake to enjoy, as well as a curated cocktail list.
Cafe Kowloon
- Opening date: 4th February
- Location: 392-393 Mentmore Terrace, London Fields, E8 3PH
- Cuisine: Cantonese
- Why we're excited: the menu from Owners Frank Yeung (whose dad is from Hong Kong) and Abhinav Malde sounds amazing, and they're soft launching it on the 30th and 31st of January with 50% off food
Hidden away at the back of the bao slinging spot from the team behind Mr Bao and Daddy Bao is Cafe Kowloon, a low-key, secret-ish Cantonese restaurant. This is Hong Kong cooking, but filtered through a contemporary London lens. Owners Frank Yeung (whose family roots trace back to Hong Kong) and Abhinav Malde are steering the menu into nostalgic territory with just enough reinvention to keep things interesting.
Expect curry fish ball skewers, monkey head cheung fun, and the return of that cult Ibérico secreto char siu that once had Soho devotees mourning the loss of Wun’s Tea House. Dessert isn’t phoning it in either: Hong Kong French toast, reimagined with peanut butter crème pâtissière, is very much the sort of thing you’ll order 'to share' and then absolutely won’t.

Cafe Kowloon is coming to London Fields.
Now Open - January's Highlights
Tiella Trattoria & Bar

Progressing from a residency at cosy Canonbury pub The Compton Arms, which gained London foodies' attention for its standout food, Tiella is launching its own trattoria and bar this January. The launch comes from Dara Klein, who spent her childhood between Emilia Romagna in Italy and New Zealand, and her adult years working in the kitchens of Trullo, Brawn and Sager & Wild - some of London's trendiest neighbourhood restaurants.
Keeping on the pub-meets-trattoria vibe, she'll be taking over an old pub on Columbia Road. The venue is set to champion some of its original features, like a central bar, complete with a cosy dining room with an open kitchen and an alfresco terrace. Get ready for an Italian-led menu made with British produce, including dishes such as orecchiette with cime di rapa and pangrattato, and chicken Milanese - and finish it off with glass of something Italian or a pint from the draught taps.

The new central London flagship will boast a brand-new outdoor terrace, a hyper-seasonal menu, and a significantly expanded drinks list. But the biggest news might actually be what's happening to the bill. In a rare and incredibly welcome move for London's current hospitality climate, Bubala is using this expansion to reduce the price of its iconic ‘Bubala Knows Best’ set menu by nearly 20% across all four sites.

Tuck into delicious plates at Bubala.

But since Abé left the business early last year, there have been rumours that a rebrand was coming - and now it's finally here. Romy Gill, one of the UK's most established Indian chefs, is set to reopen the venue as Romy Gill At The Pem in autumn 2026.

Fortune Family, the group behind Marylebone’s critically acclaimed and Michelin-starred hotspot Lita, has secured a deal with The Crown Estate to take over a historic 6,700-square-foot site on Vigo Street, just off Regent Street. The striking double-height venue previously housed Burberry’s Thomas’s Cafe and has remained empty since the pandemic. For its grand revival, the group has enlisted acclaimed chef Luca Natalini, owner of Milan's celebrated restaurant Autem, to lead the concept as executive chef.
While specific menu details remain tightly under wraps, early releases indicate that high-quality meat and seafood will anchor the culinary identity of the venue. The ground floor will feature an interactive pizzeria alongside a communal table and counter seating to encourage a relaxed, daytime walk-in culture. Meanwhile, the first floor will play host to a dedicated live pasta station, complemented by a bar specifically designed for aperitivo culture and late-evening sessions.

While there isn't a lot of information about the new opening yet, their existing venue suggests that the menu will include sashimi, nigiri, temaki and Japanese handrolls, as well as Robata grill dishes. They're taking over Cote on Devonshire Street, so it's set to be much bigger than their original space too.

Upstairs, the experience shifts to Moga, a slick Hi-Fi listening bar named after Japan's liberated 1920s 'modern women.' Complete with custom Taguchi speakers, a ceiling built from masu sake cups, and a tea-focused cocktail menu created in tandem with Postcard Teas, it’s a breathtaking two-story space that we're incredibly excited about.

Inspired by cherished family holidays and Parisian institutions like the beloved Bistrot des Tournelles, the Levan team is delivering a beautifully focused French dining experience to the heart of Covent Garden.
Chef Essa Fakhry is letting classic French techniques do the talking here, but with the playful, modern restraint we’ve come to expect from the team. The menu reads like a dream: from a decadently rich coq-au-vin jaune pie to perfectly grilled monkfish au poivre.

- Why we're excited: having won two Michelin stars for his existing restaurant, Andrew Wong is a titan of the Chinese food game. And teaming up with Amar Radia, we have no doubt that this new East London pub will be something truly special
Two-Michelin-starred chef Andrew Wong is teaming up with Amar Radia, co-founder of Dishoom, to bring Shoreditch something totally new: a Chinese pub. Opening later this year, Kong is taking over a pub that has been around since 1792 - around the same time that the first Chinese settlers arrived in East London.
Wong aims to combine the traditions of the East End pub with quality Chinese cooking, serving innovative dishes that nod to both cultures. This is not the first time that he has taken on a progressive project, as his Pimlico restaurant A. Wong was the first Chinese restaurant outside Asia to win two Michelin stars.
Camille Farringdon
- Opening date: Autumn 2026
- Location: 57 West Smithfield, EC1A 9DS
- Cuisine: French
- Why we're excited: the Borough location has been such a hit, and it's quite hard to get a booking, so a second location will double your chances of experiencing brilliant French cuisine in the city
A Borough Market favourite is taking over a legendary Farringdon dining room. Camille, the hugely popular Southwark bistro led by head chef Elliot Hashtroudi, is branching out with a second site, moving into the historic West Smithfield premises that previously housed Club Gascon. It’s big news for 57 West Smithfield: the site was home to Pascal Aussignac and Vincent Labeyrie’s Michelin-starred icon for 23 years before it quietly wound down in March 2026.
While the Borough Market original leaned heavily into regional French bistro classics, this new sister site is taking a fascinating left turn. According to a teaser dropped on Instagram, Hashtroudi is taking inspiration from his grandmother’s heritage, diving deep into old-school regional British and Irish cooking. Expect Victorian culinary traditions, plenty of Celtic influences, and zero-waste, offal-forward dishes using hyper-local ingredients from across the Isles.

Camille is one of the best places for French dining in London.
Le Café LPM at The Lanesborough
- Opening date: September 2026 (year-long residency)
- Location: Shoreditch
- Cuisine: French Riviera
- Why we're excited: this Riviera-inspired café from La Petite Maison is popping up at The Lanesborough for one year only with polished pâtisserie, elegant all-day plates and aperitif hours to match
Le Café LPM is bringing a little slice of the Côte d’Azur to The Lanesborough this September, as La Petite Maison unveils its first standalone café concept with an exclusive year-long London residency. Expect Riviera-inspired all-day dining in one of the city’s grandest addresses, from coffee, pâtisserie and Burrata Tartine to Croque Monsieur, Tuna Carpaccio, Grilled Octopus and Dark Chocolate Mousse with sea salt.
Made for leisurely lunches, afternoon treats and elegant aperitif hours, this polished new opening has a menu celebrating seasonality and a polished aesthetic - bright and elegant like Riviera cafés and sunlit pâtisseries.

Expect salads (pictured), pastries, cocktails and more at Le Café LPM.
Talli Queen
- Opening date: September 2026
- Location: Shepherd's Bush
- Cuisine: Indian
- Why we're excited: chef Shashidhara has won multiple awards for his cooking, so we can't wait to see his take on Indian pub fare, and their Sunday roasts sound truly fantastic
Talli Queen is a new neighbourhood pub coming to Shepherd's Bush, brought to you by chef Avi Shashidhara and housed inside a 120-year-old building. Shashidhara has got a lot of accolades to his name: his Fitzrovia restaurant Pahli Hill was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand within its first year of trading and he won the starter course on Great British Menu in 2023 - so we're excited to see what he does next. This project is deeply personal to him, inspired by nearly 20 years of cooking in London and his regular travels across India.
These adventures have shaped the menu, with dishes originating from all over the subcontinent. Think Kerala chilli beef with fresh coconut and curry leaves, Bangalore-inspired dosa and toddy shop clams, as well as an Indian take on Sunday roast. Drinks-wise, there'll be 18 draught lines, including cask ales and stour, alongside a concise cocktail list and some Indian spirits. The interior will fir the building's history and feature a few Indian touches too, with original wood panelling, reclaimed British pub furniture and Red Levanto marble from Rajasthan.
KIBOU Covent Garden
- Opening date: 2027
- Location: Covent Garden
- Cuisine: Japanese
- Why we're excited: paired with a standalone bar serving up Japanese-inspired cocktails alongside an extensive selection of sake, umeshu, and rare whiskies, it’s set to be a bustling West End destination for casual dates, group feasts, and late-night drinks
Japanese kitchen and bar KIBOU is making its central London debut with its biggest and most ambitious site to date. Taking over an impressive 210-cover space on Tavistock Street, just steps from Covent Garden Piazza, the upcoming flagship features an open sushi kitchen, a private dining room, and pretty interiors complete with original hand-painted murals by artist Martyna Sabadasz.
On the menu, expect a crowd-pleasing mix of contemporary and classic Japanese sharing plates, ranging from pristine handmade sushi and sashimi to steaming bowls of ramen, pillowy bao, crisp tempura, and A5 Joshu wagyu beef.
New Restaurants In London FAQs:
How We Choose The Best New Restaurants Opening In London
This guide is curated by a dedicated team of local editors and food writers. While we offer booking services, our ‘New Restaurant’ lists are not paid advertisements. We select venues based on culinary merit, neighbourhood impact, and unique concepts. If a restaurant is on this list, it’s because our editors believe it is an exciting addition to London’s dining scene - not because they paid for the spot. If you'd like to know more about how we curate our guides, please see our Editorial Policy.
How often is this list of new London restaurants updated?
This guide to new restaurants in London is updated weekly. The DesignMyNight team adds newly opened venues, upcoming launches, and trending spots as they happen — so it's always worth checking back, even mid-month. Each entry includes the cuisine style, location, opening date, and sometimes a full review.
What's the difference between this guide and a general 'best restaurants in London' list?
This guide focuses specifically on new restaurant openings — venues that have just launched or are opening imminently in London. It's updated weekly to reflect the very latest additions to the city's food scene, making it the go-to resource if you want to be among the first to try somewhere. A 'best restaurants in London' list, by contrast, tends to feature established favourites that have stood the test of time. If you want both, DesignMyNight covers those too.
