A dazzling show will light up St Paul's this winter.
London is filled with architectural marvels and historic buildings, and sometimes we get so used to them that we pass by every day without a second thought. One artistic duo wants to cast one of the city's most iconic landmarks in a whole new light, literally.
St Paul's Cathedral will welcome a new immersive light and sound experience in February 2027, transforming the architectural masterpiece into a stunning backdrop for colourful projections and music.
St Paul's Cathedral Is Getting A New Light Show For Winter 2027
What Is The Light Show At St Paul's?
The show is called Origins and serves as an immersive installation by Luxmuralis, the artistic partnership of sculptor Peter Walker and composer David Harper. Drawing inspiration from St Paul’s Cathedral’s historical collections, the experience uses light, projections, and sound to explore everything from old maps and musical scores to historic texts.
You can pay extra to access the famous Whispering Gallery, which sits 99 feet above the cathedral floor. Just be prepared for the 257 steps to get there, but the views will be worth it.
When Is The Light Show At St Paul's?
Origins will run at St Paul’s Cathedral from the 19th to the 27th of February 2027, across nine evenings of light and sound to brighten up the tail end of winter.
