Internationally-renowned bar and restaurant The Ivy will be spreading its roots and heading to Glasgow. The high-end eatery has become known to many for its celebrity clientele, and has been the epitome of glamour in London since its opening in 1917. In more recent years, smaller versions of the Covent Garden restaurant have been popping up in cities across the UK, with Buchanan Street its next location in Glasgow’s city centre.
Promising an opening date of spring 2019, the restaurant has kept everything pretty hush-hush so we can’t be sure if there will be a theme, like Manchester’s The Ivy Asian, or if it will feature the decadent decor synonymous with its London sites. What has been confirmed? The Ivy will take residency in the former Nationwide bank building and will be built over three floors with over 170 covers as well as the possibility of outdoor space, so fingers crossed we’ll soon be sipping cocktails, al fresco.
