Our Review Of Celentano's Glasgow: Italian-Inspired Dining With A Focus On Sustainable Scottish Ingredients

Looking for a stylish Italian-inspired restaurant in Glasgow that champions seasonal Scottish produce? We visited Celentano's to see whether its reputation as one of the city's most talked-about dining destinations lives up to the hype.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Anna and Dean Parker, the restaurant was inspired by their travels through Italy, where a love of sharing food, family and celebration sparked the idea for an Italian-influenced dining experience rooted in Scottish produce. Sustainability sits at the heart of the concept, with a focus on seasonal ingredients, fermentation and a minimal-waste approach to cooking.

With a bright, beautiful dining room, thoughtful service and dishes that celebrate quality ingredients, this is the kind of place that makes a lasting impression. But what did we think?

Menu Highlights

Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Nocellara olives (£4.50) – A simple but effective opener. Briny, meaty olives that paired perfectly with pre-dinner drinks and set the tone for the quality to come.

  • Stracciatella, EVOO and sourdough crumb (£5.50) – Creamy, fresh and beautifully balanced. The combination of oozing stracciatella, quality olive oil and crunchy sourdough crumb showcased how well Celentano's handles even the simplest ingredients.
  • Celentano's sourdough and smoked cultured butter (£5.50) With Spiced Nduja Add-On – Freshly baked sourdough served with intensely flavourful smoked butter and spicy nduja. Comforting, indulgent and impossible to stop picking at.
  • Pappardelle, Highland beef ragu and corra linn (£14) – Rich, hearty and packed with flavour, this dish showcased beautifully cooked ribbons of pappardelle coated in a slow-cooked Highland beef ragu. Finished with Corra Linn cheese, it struck the perfect balance between rustic Italian comfort food and refined restaurant cooking.
  • Dayboat monkfish (180g) (£29) – Served with wilted greens and roe butter, this was the standout of the meal. The monkfish was perfectly cooked, retaining its delicate texture and natural sweetness, while the rich roe butter added depth without overpowering the fish.

Drink: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Celentano's negroni (£10) – Made with Tanqueray Ten, Campari and Celentano's Vermouth Rosso, this house take on the classic cocktail was beautifully balanced. Bold, bittersweet and expertly mixed, it was the perfect pre-dinner drink.
  • Celentano's soda (£3.75) – Available in lemon, lime or chinotto, these refreshing house-made sodas are crisp, light and packed with flavour. The ideal accompaniment for the restaurant's seasonal menu.
