The Dead Canary

Ticking all of our boxes as the ultimate date night destination, The Dead Canary is one of the most romantic places in town to visit, with great drinks all year round. Inspired by Prohibition bars and mixing cocktails in completely new ways, booking is essential for this secret, sultry spot.

This Valentine's Day (well, 16th February), the bar is hosting a cinema night where they'll be showing The Lost Boys and taking care of the drinks, as they've picked four of their favourite scenes to pair with bespoke Takamaka Rum cocktails.

Begin with the Ivy classic crispy duck salad before moving on to soy-glazed blackened cod or a lentil and aubergine bake. Don't miss the classic melting dome with vanilla ice cream, honeycomb and hot caramel sauce for dessert.

Disguised as a secret garden, The Botanist is certainly saving you from having to splash out on flowers this year. Our favourite picks include the 8oz ribeye steak served with a heritage tomato, red onion, rocket and caper salad, alongside triple-cooked chunky chips, as well as the succulent pork belly.

Their happy hour runs every day from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, and you can look forward to cocktails like the Ginger Cow, featuring raspberry and basil.
