Soda

One of Cardiff's favourite nightlife hubs, Soda can sort you for everything from happy hours to live sports screenings. Students should be checking out their Wednesday night offering where they turn up the volume and bring down the drinks prices - £2 wine? It'd be rude not to.

Ten Mill Lane

26 user reviews 4

Head over to Mill Lane where this excellent cocktail and party keeps the tunes blaring until 6am almost every night of the week. While the cocktails aren't the cheapest in town, they're unparalleled for quality, and the venue throws plenty of student friendly events.

Popworld Cardiff

6 user reviews 3

For a cheesy, fun-filled night head to Popworld in the city centre. This classic student haunt comes decked out with a light-up dancefloor, and DJs pumping nothing but the biggest pop songs from past and present, there is nothing standing between you and a boogie.

Perfect for anyone on a budget, Revs has got the goods when it comes to good drinks, tunes and a big atmosphere. Alongside DJs spinning tracks throughout the night, the venue's talented team of bartenders use an arsenal of ingredients to shake up some of the most creative cocktails in town - and they won't cost you the world.

PRYZM Cardiff

4 user reviews 4

With seven rooms including the main arena, PRYZM is one of Cardiff's biggest nightclubs and perfect for a full-on, up-all-night party. Fear not if the student loan hasn't come through yet, vodka mixer is £1.50 and Jagerbombs are £2 during Friday night's Agenda.

Retro

The 90s are cool again, yeah? And for the ultimate student 90s party head to Retro in central Cardiff. There are two dancefloors to get down on at this Mill Lane spot, with Wednesday nights are all about cheap drinks and Thursday's bringing on the karaoke.

VKs at the ready kids because Metros is serving up nothing but the best in cheap drinks and excellent tunes. Bringing you the biggest throwback pop parties and alternative club nights, they're offering free entry before 11, £3 doubles and a whole lot of trouble.

A favourite amongst Cardiff's creative student crowd, Womanby Street's Clwb Ifor Bach is a go-to for club nights as much as live music. Whether you're getting down to classic pop, funk and soul soirees or dirty old rock, they've got a genre for everything.

As far as Cardiff's student nightlife goes, Y Plas is pretty spot on; built in Cardiff University's student union, YOLO Wednesday is the dedicated clubbing night while the rest of the week there's an excellent line up of live music - past artists include Jake Bugg and London Grammar.
