What they say:
Sometimes it's easy to forget that there’s an actual person behind the faces of the internet’s many memes and it turns out that last year’s sexy culinary meme, Salt Bae (AKA Nusret Gökçe), isn’t just famous for his questionable seasoning techniques, but also his restaurants. The guy you saw on memes about adding fancy words to essays or how you are really not dramatic is an international restaurateur with a steak joint called Nusr-Et Steakhouse. After opening up venues in New York and Miami, he’s heading to The Park Tower hotel in Knightsbridge for a top secret date – and with Justin Beiber and Brooklyn Beckham having blown up Instagram with their impressions, you could be the next best thing on Instagram with yours. Probably.
What we say:
Other than a ludicrous amount of sodium on your table, what can you expect at the Steakhouse? Well, steak, of course. Salt Bae apparently cannot speak English but ‘communicate[s] with people through meat’, so if that’s, uh, your thing you’ve hit the jackpot. Otherwise, the brand’s classic dishes of roasted asado short rib, Nusr-Et ‘meat spaghetti’ and lokum, which is sliced beef fillet, are all making a return. Most details are schtum at the moment, but if you think he’s not going to be milking it all on social media very soon, you clearly haven’t been paying attention.
