JOSIE LONG

There is no one quite like Josie Long, but thank goodness there is one person that is precisely her.  A comedy prodigy - she won the prestigious So You Think You're Funny competition aged just 17 years old - she has gone on to forge a unique path for herself, creating enormously uplifting stand-up comedy which blooms at the place where idiosyncratic storytelling, activism, politics, homemade props, delicate whimsy and brutal honest meet.  It's unsurprising that her career is filled with awards and nominations - Edinburgh Fringe Best Newcomer winner and 3 nominations for best show - plus a trail of groundbreaking charities established, alternative reality tours and artfully made films.

Josie has performed stand-up around the world and her eighth solo stand-up show, Something Better, started in full swing in September 2016 with a sell-out two weeks at the Soho Theatre in London, followed by a two-week run at the Barrow Street Theatre New York. In 2017, Josie has continued her success on the road, headlining at San Francisco’s Sketchfest and RIOT LA in the US, The Melbourne International Comedy Festival in Australia, and highlighted by a sold-out show at the Duchess Theatre in London’s West End.

"Josie Long builds delightful comedy worlds." The Times

"Strikes an adroit balance between fun, moral outrage and indignant mockery of our hideous powers-that be." Guardian

"What great comedy can be. Inspired and inspiring." Metro

ELEANOR MORTON

Eleanor Morton is a Scottish stand-up, writer and actor. She is also a performer with the award nominated London comedy groups Weirdos and Comedian’s Cinema Club. Recently she’s become a board member of ACMS, after some more famous and successful comedians were purged. That’s how you get ahead, kids.  Recently she supported Stewart Francis on his Pun Gent tour, and Frankie Boyle on his Hurt Like You’ve never Been Loved tour, impressing with her signature smart, opinionated, honest and often political comedy.

"Charmingly whimsical." The Guardian

DANNY GARNELL

Professional wrestler turned deft storyteller, Danny is a wildly entertaining and charming newcomer who won the most prestigious new comedy prize at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.  His honesty, wit and down to earth humour made him a massive hit with judges and audience members alike.

"Littered with keen observations, had the audience hooked." Chortle

CHRIS KENT

Hailing from ‘The Rebel County’ (That’s Cork for anyone outside Ireland), Chris gave up the day job as an electrician to pursue his calling in comedy. He emerged onto the Irish comedy scene in 2009 after winning the Bulmers Nuttin’ But Funny competition.

Since then he has quickly established himself on the Irish circuit and became sought out to open for some of his favourite acts, including Dylan Moran, David O’ Doherty and Neil Delamare to name but a few. After making his Edinburgh Fringe debut his show was so well received that he was chosen to support Bill Burr in Vicar Street, on his only Irish date that year.

In 2015 Chris made his UK TV debut on Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central. Shortly afterwards, he moved to the UK to try and establish himself on the UK comedy scene, where he has quickly become a favourite at some of the top clubs.  His sharply observed, gently odd and easily accessible material have made him a true favourite with punters and fellow comics alike.

“Compelling storyteller, truly surprising, beautifully delivered” The Scotsman

“Breathes new life into anecdotal comedy” The List

“Massive potential and already frighteningly accomplished” The British Comedy Guide

ROB OLDHAM

Still a relative newcomer to the comedy scene, but already with bags of pedigree, Rob's marvellous smart oddball comedy has already gained him much acclaim.  A member of the esteemed Cambridge Footlights in 2016, Rob went onto garner success as a solo performer in 2017 as winner of the Amused Moose Breakthrough Award.

"He has quirky, offbeat sensibilities that distill into smart jokes that rarely sound like anyone else’s." Chortle

AND YOUR GUEST HOST:

ALEXANDER BENNETT

Alexander Bennett is a comedian based in London, who started writing and performing on the comedy circuit at the age of 15. Since then, he has won praise from a writer for The Guardian, notorious comedy critics Chortle and British comedy legend Harry Hill. He currently performs up and down the country, and is a rising star on the British comedy scene.

Alexander also created Hell To Play, the comedy game show set in Hell. He has several Edinburgh fringe shows under his belt, and has performed at festivals such as End of The Road, Leefest, Larmer Tree Festival and Ambition Festival.

“Witty, weird and dark, the one to watch out for: at the spearhead of a wave of great new comics. All hail Alexander Bennett!” Harry Hill

“Touched with madness…choice laughs… I don’t think I can begin to do him justice; a producer and performer of some refreshingly different material.” Chortle

“Warm, insane and very funny.” The Guardian
