Great roast, good wine that wasn't extortionate and nice people. Also good beers on tap. They just need some old man Ale pump handles. Will definitely gonna k for another Sunday roast and want to find out how it does as a standard all day pub venue. visited The Colonel Fawcett on 12 Feb 2017

All four of us really enjoyed our first Sunday lunch at the Colonel Fawcett - and so did the fifth member of our party, Cosmo our miniature dachshund who was made very welcome. All three courses more than acceptable, very friendly and surprisingly rapid service, an interesting and extremely wide range of drinks (and not just the gins for which they're famous) - and, I have to say, remarkably good value for money. visited The Colonel Fawcett on 29 Jan 2017

Nice pub with friendly staff. However, the place was boiling hot and we requested the heating to be turned down (with little result). We also found the food rather salty, especially the fish and chips. Not sure we would return for food. visited The Colonel Fawcett on 29 Jan 2017

Great service, however the roast lunch I had was average for the price they charge. I had the lamb with courgettes and mint sauce. The lamb was very good really tender and the potatoes were perfect! The gravy however, was quite runny and quite a lot of it, the mint sauce was not fresh and the Yorkshire pudding was a little burnt. visited The Colonel Fawcett on 15 Jan 2017

Really nice place, and a nice atmosphere. Sunday lunch was a tiny bit disappointing for the price - not much meat on the plate and the yorkshire puddings were on the burnt side of crispy. visited The Colonel Fawcett on 11 Dec 2016

I'm so lucky to have the Colonel Fawcett as my local pub. Not only do they have a stonking gin list, but their Sunday roasts are legendary! We went when they opened at midday and the food was great, the service fantastic and they were super helpful given that we had a toddler in tow. I'd totally recommend the pork belly roast. You definitely need to book as they are so popular. Camdenite visited The Colonel Fawcett on 04 Dec 2016

Lovely afternoon. Lots of our big group were late, and numbers changed, but the staff were really friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the room upstairs as it was nicely tucked away so we had a bit of standing room too. As always, the food was really great. Only issue was the initial booking - it took a couple of chases to get a proper reply to say there was availability, and I'd booked a back up by that time Emma visited The Colonel Fawcett on 04 Dec 2016

I booked our annual Christmas lunch for 25 or so of my friends. The service was good and the staff were friendly. We had a few mishaps with the bill at the end but that got sorted out. The feedback from my friends was they all thought the pub was lovely and cosy and a great venue for a festive lunch. We had a few kids in our party and they were also well looked after. I would definetly go there again. visited The Colonel Fawcett on 03 Dec 2016

Excellent food, friendly helpful staff and a pleasant environment 10/10. Notably the really unusual thing about sitting there for a very relaxed Sunday lunch is that although the place is big the tables are not crammed in - we could not have possibly heard anyone else's conversations - really rare these days. I am a keen cook myself and could find no fault at all with the really delicious plate of roast beef with all the expected trimmings, roasties, yorkshires, carrots and parsnips as well as delicious red cabbage and kale (which still had some body to it. I was absolutely stuffed but in fact found room, after a reasonable break, to taste the fabulous chocolate tart served with sorbet. All in all a fantastic venue for a relaxed Sunday lunch- lots of young families arrived but caused no disturbance at all. visited The Colonel Fawcett on 20 Nov 2016

Googled the best Sunday Roasts in London and came up with your pub. Our party of 3 included 2 Vegetarians who constantly find it hard work to find a good Sunday lunch out but not anymore. Your Vegetarian roast was head and shoulders above any other tried and absolutely amazing, loved it. Unfortunately we live well outside London but we will be booking in everyone we visit in the future. Must also add the service was great and incredibly welcoming. See you again soon. visited The Colonel Fawcett on 13 Nov 2016

Great staff, good food, and very accommodating. I was a little disappointed that there had been a mix up in communication and we didn't have our area booked for the full time, but they did then clear an area downstairs for our group. An excellent night, and a lovely pub. visited The Colonel Fawcett on 12 Nov 2016

Wonderful vegetarian Sunday roasts and available as a vegan option too. On the main menu dishes the poached salmon was delicious, perfectly cooked and very light. A real surprise that a healthy poached fish dish with lentils and spinach could be so tasty. Service was excellent and I'll definitely visit again. visited The Colonel Fawcett on 09 Oct 2016

We had a Bottomless Brunch booked for a birthday. Luckily they didn't start the 2 hour allocated slot until the entire table had arrived, and were very accommodating until then. The food was great, the service, and the atmosphere were wonderful. Would definitely recommend.

I held my 30th birthday at Colonel Fawcett in July 2016 (weekend just gone). We hired the upstairs room which is really big and airey. It was amazing. I loved the venue and exceeded all my expectations. The staff were very attentive and polite and friendly and accommodated all our needs. We ordered some food as well which was of a really high quality and the chef even created a vegetarian menu for us. The room had air con which was perfect for a summers day. Everyone commented on what a great place it was. We had use of the speakers so just plugged in our laptop and played all our own music and we even had a slideshow of photos using the projector. Perfect :)

Really terrible exerience. The manager fell out with one of my friends after sitting on a table together. Then proceeded to ban us all. Really neurotic. Genuinely awful pub full stop. Quite pricey too.
