The Colonel Fawcett pub, in the back streets of Camden, has built up an incredible reputation since its inception (on the site of The Camden Arms est. 1845) in 2011. One of Camden's few independent free houses, we're proud to offer a great array of 19 beers on draft, over 100 gins and a fantasticselection…
Good Ship Comedy presents Fern Brady

Description
FERN BRADY
Fearless writing and lighting fast wit make Fern an exceptional comedian, one who has been building up a remarkable body of work over the past few years. Prior to entering comedy Fern was a Guardian award-nominated journalist and has also spoken about topical issues on Radio’s 4’s The Today Programme. She is similarly uncompromising in her material, slaughtering holy cows with little care for audience sensibilities or insufferable fools. Few acts have the scalpel-like way with an image or analogy as Fern, and it's little wonder that she's become a regular on BBC Radio 4's 'The Now Show', as well as appearing on '8 Out of 10 Cats', 'Live at The Comedy Store' and 'Russell Howard's Stand-up Central'.
"Appealingly acidic… a great comic sensibility with moments of sparkling verve." The Guardian
"Solid gold material on top of a beautifully brutal turn of phrase." Fest
"Bold, whip-smart and unabashedly honest” ★★★★ The Herald
JOE WELLS
Joe is very much in the vanguard of young political comics unleashing on the current shower calling themselves our government. Since he started performing comedy almost a decade ago he has delivered several hugely well-received shows featuring his excellently crafted mixture of silliness, absurdism and polemic, all in the pursuit of big, big laughs. His work hasn’t gone un-noticed by some of the biggest names in industry and Joe has supported both Alexei Sayle and Frankie Boyle on tour.
Night of the Living Tories was Joe’s debut hour long stand up show, in which he dug up the corpses of the British Conservative Party of the past and put them on display to horrifying consequence. Joe took his follow up show, 10 Thing I Hate About UKIP, to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016 and in 2017 took I Hope I Die Before I Start Voting Conservative.
"A battery of good jokes about our bad government." The Guardian
DANIEL MUGGLETON
Daniel Muggleton is an Australian stand-up comedian from Sydney, which is objectively a better city than Melbourne, just trust him.
He has sold out shows at festivals around Australia: Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Canberra Comedy Festival, Darwin Fringe & Sydney Fringe - as well as at The Edinburgh Fringe. His debut album ‘Let Me Finish’ was released in 2017 by Grammy Award-Winning US label Comedy Dynamics, making him the first Australian comedian they’ve ever produced…following in the footsteps of huge American stars such as Kevin Hart, Jim Gaffigan and Bill Burr.
"Very, very funny." Sydney Arts Guide
JAKE FARRELL
Another fresh, excellent new comic who is part of Soho Theatre's Young Comedy Company. Whilst still young and new to comedy Jake is already an accomplished and engaging storyteller.
AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:
BEN VAN DER VELDE
Standing a statuesque five foot five inches high (not in heels) and weighing in at eleven stone (on a good day) Ben is the current light-middleweight contender for compering champion of North London.
"Sharp and crafty gagsmith, a life-giving compere." Chortle
"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine
“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.” Huffington Post
