MARCUS BRIGSTOCKE

Marcus Brigstocke’s talent was noted early on in his career in 1996 when he won the BBC New Comedian Award at the Edinburgh Festival. He is now regarded as a major comedy, writing and acting talent, performing stand up nationally to sell out audiences on tour.

BBC Radio 4 has become somewhat of a second home to Marcus with regular appearances on I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, The Now Show and Just A Minute; he has written and recorded three series and four specials of his hit show Giles Wemmbley-Hogg Goes Off. Most recently, he co-starred alongside Kerry Godliman, in The Wilsons Save The World, which has been recommissioned for a second series.

Marcus is the master of satirical comedy and has proved to be blisteringly funny over a wide range of topics including; climate change, religious extremism, immigration, loans companies, the Special Relationship, compensation culture, women’s magazines, The EU and David Blaine, not to mention his own personal battle against his middle class roots.

“Charming, hilarious and utterly refreshing… don’t miss this incredible show.” The Sunday Mirror

“Sharpest one-liner merchant.” The Sunday Times

“Rare is the stand-up show that makes you laugh, think and then fight back the tears. This is it.” Daily Telegraph

RACHEL PARRIS

Actor, improviser, musician, presenter and probably a dab hand at twenty-five other things she's too humble to tell us about, Rachel is one of the most versatile and multi-talented performers on the UK circuit.

As a comedian, she has won critical acclaim for her solo shows which have run at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Soho Theatre London and on national tours, and has been awarded Best Musical Comedy Show (Whats On London), Best Jokes of the Fringe (Telegraph), been nominated for Best Show 2016 (Funny Women)  and recommended as a Pick of the Fringe by the Guardian who described it as "beautifully crafted and performed...tears of laughter".

She is also an experienced improviser, and is a founding member of the award-winning improv comedy smash hit Austentatious, an Edinburgh Fringe sell-out show, UK Tour sell-out, with a residency in London's West End and has been broadcast on BBC Radio 4.   She has made several other appearances on BBC Radio 4 and BBC 6 Music, most recently in The Now Show, and on TV, she appeared in the highly anticipated IT Crowd Special on Channel 4, which was nominated in the BAFTA Awards. Rachel presented the Game of Thrones fanshow, Thronecast, on Sky Atlantic and she has appeared in BBC2's Murder In Successville, Russell Howard's Good News, satirical sketch show Revolting and is currently on BBC2's topical comedy show The Mash Report.

"A joyous story...effortlessly moving between poignancy and gags...an uplifting, life-affirming hour." The List

"As a proposition, Parris is in her Springtime." Independent

"Blonde, gorgeous, talented and very funny. Her delivery and timing are as precise and skilled as hand-etched glass. This is classy, clever, controlled comedy. Like all great comics, she can take the room where she wants...Uproarious." Scotsman

DANNY GARNELL

Professional wrestler turned deft storyteller, Danny is a wildly entertaining and charming newcomer who won the most prestigious new comedy prize at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.  His honesty, wit and down to earth humour made him a massive hit with judges and audience members alike.

"Littered with keen observations, had the audience hooked." Chortle

WILLIAM STONE

William Stone is gathering moss. Stuck somewhere between reality and dreams in the nineties, he navigates his way through life with one-liners that highlight the absurdity of the mundane.  A one-of-a-kind peach of an act, he recently appeared on BBC Radio 2 as part of the BBC New Act Final.  An act for people who have been craving a comic who is the lovechild of Milton Jones and Vic & Bob.

"An excellent writer of quirky one-liners." Chortle

"William cracks me up, he's got some belting gags that I wish I'd thought of. Highly recommended" Angela Barnes

JULIET MEYERS

Managing to mix silliness with edginess, Juliet has a chatty style that allows her to interact with the crowd; this makes her much in demand both as a comedian and an MC. She has been bringing her own brand of hilarious, cerebral, observational, gag –driven, (mostly gender non-specific), comedy to the stage for 7 years.

“Devilish coy look, excellent material with some on the edge gags.” The Scotsman

“Laugh out loud funny, wonderfully bizarre ideas.” Chortle

AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:

BEN VAN DER VELDE

One of the quickest wits around and a much-loved compere, he always brings a jam-packed back of nonsense, silliness and wisecracks to every gig he hosts.

"Sharp and crafty gagsmith, a life-giving compere." Chortle

"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine

“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.”  Huffington Post
