OLAF FALAFEL

A unique mixture of one-liners and Scandinavian-tinged stories has earned Olaf the purely fictitious title of ‘Sweden’s eighth funniest comedian’. His recent exploits include coming second in the 2014 Laughing Horse New Act of the Year, beating the Comedy Store’s infamous Gong Show (twice just to show off!) being crowned the 2013 Golden Jester and also being named Last Minute Comedy Club’s New Act of 2013.

"Absurdity so well-crafted that silly doesn't do it justice." Evening Standard

“Quirkily eccentric… combining modern technology with old-fashioned idiocy.” The Scotsman

"Falafel has a talent for the tangential with the ruthlessness and timing of any talented stand-up.” Fest

“A mixture of audience interaction and jokes worthy of Milton Jones. His easy confidence and a sense of performance endeared him to the crowd.” Chortle

OLGA KOCH

EDINBURGH COMEDY AWARD BEST NEWCOMER NOMINEE 2018

Olga Koch does stand-up comedy onstage and creates cathartic performance art in the privacy of her own home. She has trained at the UCB Theatre in New York, as well as the Soho Theatre and the Free Association in London. With a background like that it's no surprise that she was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe last summer.

"A naturally comic mind." Beyond the Joke

"Hugely charismatic." Broadway Baby

MYQ KAPLAN

Myq Kaplan is a comedian named Myq Kaplan (pronounced “Mike”). He is a 2010 Last Comic Standing Finalist and has appeared on the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, the Late Show with David Letterman, Comedy Central Presents, and all the other places he’s been. You can listen to Myq’s podcast, Hang Out With Me, on the Keith and The Girl network. His debut CD, Vegan Mind Meld, was one of iTunes’ top ten best-selling comedy albums in 2010, followed by Meat Robot in 2013 and his one-hour Netflix special Small Dork and Handsome in 2014.

"A one-man screwball comedy in which silly and brainy sides bicker." New York Times

TREV TOKABI

Direct from Ivory Coast, Trev Tokabi has been charming audiences on the UK circuit for the past few years with his tall tales.  With a penchant for the embarrassingly uncomfortable, Trev uses a no holes barred approach to the most innocuous of situation. His quirky musings on every day life quickly turn into rambling monologues about je ne sais quoi.

"Clever and funny." Tony Law

JEN IVES

"Easy-going and gregarious with a touch of self-deprecation that adds to her confidence rather than detracts from it... great company" Chortle

AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:

BEN VAN DER VELDE

Standing a statuesque five foot five inches high (not in heels) and weighing in at eleven stone (on a good day) Ben is the current light-middleweight contender for compering champion of North London.

"Sharp and crafty gagsmith, a life-giving compere." Chortle

"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine

“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.”  Huffington Post
