There’s nothing quite as comforting as a Sunday roast, but cooking your own can be somewhat of an ordeal (it’s all about the timings, apparently). So instead of fretting over dried roast chicken, burnt potatoes and lumpy gravy and - given the circumstances we’re in - let’s just sack the whole thing off. Why? Because these brilliant pubs and restaurants are delivering the best Sunday roasts in London, literally. From fresh cuts of meat to veggie wellingtons that are ideal for sharing, treat yourself to a classic without the worry.
The Farmer’s Mistress
This Battersea restaurant has launched a southwest delivery service which includes dry aged beef rump with gravy (or the roasted onion, pepper and nut roast for veggies) served with potatoes, red cabbage, carrots, parsnips, cauliflower cheese and a Yorkshire pudding. To wash it down? Throw in a bottle of wine and it all comes to £60, with 10% of proceeds going to Hospitality Action.
Coal Rooms in Peckham have launched a takeaway Sunday roast to help brighten up your weekend dining. Choose between a 40-day-aged belted Galloway rump, whole Cotswold chicken or Welsh lamb saddle, which all come with beef dripping, potatoes, carrots, January King cabbage, leeks and Yorkshire pudding. Prices range from £39 to £44 and must be done online through their website.

The Parlour Kensel
An entire Sunday roast platter sounds like quite a task if you’re flying solo in the kitchen. Cue The Parlour, who have everything you need to make a roast in just 10 minutes, including fresh chicken, beef and lamb with seasonal veg. If that’s not enough for you, check out the ‘provisions’ boxes that come with essentials like eggs, cheese and veggies.
While you may not be able to tuck into The Stag’s enticing roast offerings within their famous beer garden, you can now recreate it on your balcony, in your garden or your own kitchen (with your plants dotted around you?). Check out Deliveroo on a Sunday and you’ll find roast ribeye, a vegan nut roast and a whole roast chicken, all served with classic trimmings.
