'The branches of the Astral Corridor weave through time and space, echoing fractured realities once thought forgotten. The archivists of the Black Archives work tirelessly to catalogue these tales, reaching into the furthest depths of the corridor to glimpse what can never be.’
Black Archives is a TTRPG story spotlight event, as our house GMs weave tales from across the multiverse. These original stories are self-contained and setting-agnostic, intended for both experienced and newer players. We'll be featuring a variety of indie TTRPG systems alongside our regular D&D5E offerings!
Each session will feature it's own unique system and requirements, so be sure to read the full event description before ordering.
Tonight, the tales you can expect to uncover are:
BITING COLD (HOUSE GM:
JAMIE)
SYSTEM: D&D5E 2024
THE STORY: Deep in the frozen north of Wildemount, the
city of Uthodurn is being assaulted by biting frost, constant
blizzards, and deadly avalanches — all caused by the presence of
the ancient white dragon, Gelidon. One notable group of adventurers
has already failed to vanquish the foe; will you succeed where they
failed?
This is a high-level game of D&D 5E with a focus on exploration
and combat, set in Critical Role’s Exandria (no knowledge assumed
or required, minimal spoilers for Campaign 2 / Mighty
Nein).
PRE-GENS PROVIDED?: No - please come with a level 14
character. Use any first-party D&D books, as well as any of the
Critical Role books. Select one uncommon, one rare, and one very
rare magic item from amongst those
sourcebooks.
CONTENT WARNINGS: Fantasy violence, extreme cold.
THE BATTLE FOR HUMANITY (HOUSE GM:
GILLI)
SYSTEM: Founding Titan
(Link to PHB available below)
THE STORY: Five years ago, the titans that stalk the walls
of your city finally broke through, and you were forced to flee, as
your family, friends and homes were destroyed. Everything you had
ever known - taken from you in an instant.
Now, five years later, trained as specialist soldiers, you have
returned to the ruins of your home and must fight to take it back
for the sake of humanity, no matter the cost.
PRE-GENS
PROVIDED?: Character creation material will be provided on
the Arcanist's Tavern Discord before hand and character skills can
be decided before, or at table. A link to the Founding Titan PHB
can be found here.
CONTENT WARNINGS: Gore, Peril, Cannibalism, Hopelessness, Graphic Violence, Blood, Madness, Death, Loss, Family Loss
