You had me at Merlot...

Max and Noel Venning have been making waves in London’s drinking community for some time now, with a number of high-profile venues under their belt. Having accomplished success at Bar Three, Three Sheets and Little Mercies, the brothers are teaming up with Brodie Meah of Dinner by Heston in Melbourne, and casting their gaze on the world of wine with their newest venture Top Cuvée.

The neighbourhood wine bar and bistro in Highbury takes its inspiration from its Parisian counterparts, seating 45 guests in a cosy setting. While little is known about the finer details of the new opening, it does seem that the drinks menu will include an extensive list of natural wines from small producers, which will change daily. Furthermore, guests will be able to take them home by the bottle should they choose, as the bar will double as a high-end off-licence. There will also be a number of craft brews and cocktails on the menu for guests to sample.

For those in need of a light bite, chef Dan Miller of Harwood Arms and Naughty Piglets, has created a menu of small plates using classic French techniques, alongside a range of cheese and charcuteries. With the brothers' last few ventures receiving such critical acclaim, here’s hoping Top Cuvée will achieve nothing but grapeness.
