Description
We'd all love to travel down Route 66 in an old Mustang convertible, we suggest to save yourself a bit of money and time and come to the Plough on the 27th September for an American trip via food.
We've teamed up with our most local brewery Belleville Brewing, who only brew 1 mile down the road. Their beer is inspired by beer from the USA paired with our food which also takes influence from the USA.
Throughout the evening you'll be sampling 5 of their cracking beers, 2 from the core range and 3 from their seasonals. These will be paired with 5 small plates from that our new head chef has dreamt up. You'll be guided through the tasting by Belleville's very own founder & head brewer Adrian - so you'll be in very safe hands. As each course comes out Cris, our head chef, will explain the influence of the dish and cooking methods used to create the chef.
To start the evening off Adrian will chat with you about the creation of Bellevile and where and why it was founded. Followed by each plate:
1. London Steam Battered Hake, Pea Puree & Potato paired with London Steam Lager
2. Smoked Chicken Thigh, Pork Belly Bacon & Kimchi Slider with Calif-Oregon Amber Ale
3. Salt and pepper mussels with nouc cham (a Thai dipping sauce) paired with Thyme Square, a herb saison
4. Burnt ends soft taco with Carolina BBQ paired with Balham Black Lager
5. Tandoori Lamb, spiced lentils and 'Bhaji Onions' paired with Commonside Pale Ale
We can cater for those who have food intolerance and other dietary requirements but please let us know at least 2 days prior to the event.
Afterwards you'll be full of new beery knowledge as well as delicious food & beer.
