You can call it a playground, a museum, or something entirely new—Xanadoo is aiming to be all three, and a whole lot more.

What Is Xanadoo?
Dreamed up by the co-founder behind Eden Project, this world-class tourist attraction is less of a traditional museum and more of a choose-your-own-adventure playground that blends art, science, and technology. It's set to offer a buzzing environment of markets, food halls, and immersive attractions for adults and children alike, including a “super-sized helter-skelter, enormous maze” and “life-sized snakes and ladders.”
What Will Be Inside Xanadoo?
Plans are still being finalised for this massive space, and we'll be sure to keep you updated here with any news, but for now, some plans include:
- An immersive art trail with sculpture, sound, film, and theatre
- A playground with giant slides, climbing frames, and creative problem-solving
- The Gallery of Marvellous Solutions, which spotlights exhibits currently in storage
- Tomorrow’s World, which explores bold ideas and innovations from charities and universities
- Call to Action puts you in control—testing how small decisions can reshape the world
- The Trading Place blends street food, markets and hands-on making spaces
- Plenty of workshops including yoga, ceramics, cooking, DIY, and performance
Where Is Xanadoo's Location?
Plans have only recently been approved, and the team is eyeing South Wales as its future home. The enormous site plans to attract up to 600,000 visitors annually and employ 250 full-time staff. Xanadoo has ambitions of being to Wales what the Eden Project, the extremely popular eco-tourist attraction, is to Cornwall.
When Is Xanadoo's Opening Date?
Xanadoo is currently projected to open sometime in 2028, but nothing has been confirmed yet, so keep checking back here for more updates.
