This is our opening night with our brand new partner venue in Holloway Road. Most importantly, it's in aid of the magnificent Willow Foundation, a charity set up by Arsenal legend Bob Wilson to provide special days out for seriously ill young adults.

NICK HELM

As the self-appointment Human Car Crash of Light Entertainment, Nick Helm is one of the most funny, innovative, oddball, vulnerable, silly and extremely loud acts to rocket out of the UK comedy circuit in the past decade.

Best known for his role in the heart-warming and daft sitcom 'Uncle', Nick is also an acclaimed stand-up performer, having appeared on Live at the Apollo and been nominated for several prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Awards.

After taking up comedy in 2007, Nick quickly became a circuit legend with his tour de force of one-liners, stories, poems and jokes. Since then, he’s become one of Britain’s most loved comedians for his multiple, memorable and moving television appearances, his critically acclaimed writing and his legendary rollercoaster live shows. Make sure you take the chance to see him in our intimate venue!

"A true comedy daredevil." Time Out

"Original and beguiling." Sunday Times

"Touching pathos and dark humour." Metro

ARCHIE MADDOCKS

As a stand-up comedian, Archie is a confident, cheerful, provocative and most importantly hilarious stand-up comedian armed with a natural stage presence, quick acerbic wit and a ‘winning smile.’ He is also an acclaimed playwright, whose show ‘A Place For We’ was shortlisted for the coveted Bruntwood Prize. Quick on his feet, with a warm and affable energy, Archie is equally comfortable doing sets as he is hosting, he's worked in some of the biggest clubs in the UK, and as fair afield as South Africa and the USA. In 2016, he took his debut show Shirts Vs Skins to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which received excellent reviews and ended up on tour in South Africa in 2017. His follow-up show, IlluminArchie, was loved by critics and audience alike and received a London transfer to the prestigious Soho Theatre in 2017. He has recently made his TV debut on Comedy Central’s ‘Guessable’.

“A super cool, super smart storyteller.” Evening Standard

“He sells his material with a charismatic and enthusiastic style that stands him in good stead.” Chortle

JULIET MEYERS

Managing to mix silliness with edginess, Juliet has a chatty style that allows her to interact with the crowd; this makes her much in demand both as a comedian and an MC. She has been bringing her own brand of hilarious, cerebral, observational, gag –driven, (mostly gender non-specific), comedy to the stage for 7 years.

“Devilish coy look, excellent material with some on the edge gags.” The Scotsman

“Laugh out loud funny, wonderfully bizarre ideas.” Chortle

AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:

BEN VAN DER VELDE

One of the quickest wits around and a much-loved compere, he always brings a jam-packed back of nonsense, silliness and wisecracks to every gig he hosts.

"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine

“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.”  Huffington Post
