New Bar Spy - Mathura

Michelin-Starred Indian Fine Dining Is Coming to This Westminster Fire Station

Mathura

Opens

Autumn TBC

This autumn, acclaimed chef and the first Indian recipient of a Michelin Star, Atul Kochhar will be opening a second central London restaurant. Mathura, named after a sacred city in northern India, is a 200 cover restaurant and bar housed in a Grade II listed former fire station.

The celebrated restaurateur has collaborated once more with Tina English, a recognised innovator of Indian cuisine, following the success of their Mayfair restaurant Kanishka earlier this year. In addition to this, Kochhar has created a menu of authentic dishes with his signature flair, and promises to utilise premium, locally-sourced ingredients while offering unexpected elements for dramatic effect. With everything still very much under wraps, we’ll just have to eagerly wait and see what that will mean.
