Chuku’s has been a staple in London’s pop-up restaurant scene for a while now, gaining fans for its innovative take on Nigerian cuisine. Now the brother-sister duo behind it, Emeka and Ifeyinwa Frederick, will be opening their first permanent site on Tottenham's High Road after raising over £30,000 in just 30 days through a successful crowdfunding campaign.

Focusing on tapas-style plates, the restaurant's vibrant food offerings are created with traditions in mind, but given a modern twist. Popular dishes include jollof quinoa, plantain waffles, suya meatballs, moi moi (a vegan tart made from pureed black beans, spinach, cabbage, honey and chilli vinaigrette) and sinasir and miyan taushe (a rice pancake with pumpkin and peanut sauce).

Topping the whole thing off, Chuku’s new North London restaurant will be serving a full drinks menu for the first time. This will feature Nigerian beers, signature cocktails and soft drinks.
