Australian Chef Shaun Presland is set to open his first London restaurant. Pacific will take over the space vacated by Magpie on Heddon Street in Mayfair.

Gaining notoriety in Aus, Presland has been trained by some of the world’s best Japanese chefs and spent seven years perfecting the art of sushi making. This is his first restaurant, and will no doubt be a showcase of his culinary talents. The menu at this central-London spot will be divided into small plates, sashimi, mains and puddings, with dishes such as monkfish katsu sando and crispy skin barramundi stealing the show. The wine list here will be largely made up of natural Australian sips, with the odd sake for good measure, no doubt. 

Shaun’s already wowed British audiences with his successful residency at Carousel in 2015, and a series of supper clubs at the Tate in 2017, so we’re very eagerly anticipating any updates on what Pacific will bring.
