Cult Vegan Mexican Pop-Up Scores Permanent Soho Site

Club Mexicana

Opens

TBC March

The name Club Mexicana is fairly well known in London's culinary scene, having popped up across festival sites, food markets and in Homerton’s own Spread Eagle pub. Now, the cult vegan fave have earned their first permanent restaurant, as Club Mexicana Taqueria, in Carnaby Streets’s Kingly Court.

For those who are unfamiliar, Club Mexicana garnered attention for their signature Mexican-meets-Californian street food, serving fresh burritos, nachos and tacos that are all meat and dairy-free. Things to look out for at Club Mexicana Taqueria include the Cheezeburger Burrito with a faux-beef patty, the Tofish Taco and their new Queso Flameado which is essentially drool-inducing Mexican vegan fondue. Then there’s the MFC, a Mexican fried chick’n burrito with annatto glazing, mustard mayo, pickled cabbage and hot jalapeños, ay caramba.

No Mexicana meal would be complete without a margarita, am I right? Guests will be able to guzzle these and grapefruit Palomas on tap, as well as beer-led CM Cheladas, pickle juice-spiked Micheladas, and a variety of frozen margs that can be customised with fruity or floral flavours.
