If you like your food with a side of Instagram-worthiness, then you've probably been to Bun House. From lip-smacking glass noodles to the iconic oozing custard bun, the Soho spot is a firm foodie favourite and now, founders Z He and Alex Peffly are relocating just a few roads over in Chinatown.
Bringing their much-loved Cantonese steamed buns to the space which previously housed Poons and Leong's Legend II, Bun House and Tearoom will feature new additions from tasty beef brisket buns to sweet brioche-style pineapple buns. To celebrate Easter, there will even be a special chocolate bunny bun up for grabs. Wash it all down with a tea-based cocktail or beer from Moonzen brewery.
In keeping with the vibrant aesthetic of the original outpost, the new venue will feature dark wood panelling and sliding glass windows, with a bright interior designed by He's Five Line Projects. You'll find space for 16 diners, plus room for 40 above. If you're in a hurry then there's a small hatch serving traditional street food like in the style of Hong Kong’s dai pai dong stalls... think curried fish balls and Cheung Fun.
