It's a new year and The Old Pack Horse COMEDY CLUB returns!
If you have ever been to our Quiz Nights here on Wednesdays, you will be familiar with our Comedic host Matt Blair. Matt will be taking us to hysterical heights, as he hosts our Chiswick Comedy Club!
Joining us for our fourth run on Saturday 28th January 2023 from 8pm will be...
Opening Act: Faye Treacy
Faye Treacy is a comedian, presenter and musician. Born in Croydon, South London, Faye had a relatively normal childhood till she was sent to the local Convent. Five years later upon getting kicked out (For trying to sell the convent on eBay), she packed her bags and went to the Brit School of Performing Arts. Realising she never wanted to be a pop star, she went onto to study trombone at the Royal Academy of Music. Upon graduation Faye had a busy freelance career. Her musical career highlights include having been the resident trombonist for the Christ Moyle's Quiz Night on Channel 4, as well as playing for The Selector, Kiko Bun, The Maccabees, Rod Stewart, Tankus The Henge, PRO Glenn Millar Big Band, Hackney Colliery Band, Riot Jazz and The London Vegetable Orchestra.
Always being a keen fan of John Cage, she always wanted to try comedy, so after being forced on stage by a comedian housemate she decided to give it a go and went on to win 'Best Newcomer' at the Musical Comedy Awards in 2015. Since then her comedy career has rocketed, seeing her perform internationally at venues including: The Frog and Bucket, XS MALARKEY, The Stand, Top Secret, 99 Club, The Glee Club, Angel Comedy Club, Utrecht International Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe and Leicester Comedy Festival.
In 2018 she took her debut hour "The Problem with Faye Treacy" at the Edinburgh Fringe to rave reviews, with one of her jokes listed as top Joke of the fringe in the Evening Standard, The Mirror and The Daily Record. 2019 saw Faye join Bauer's new classical music station, Scala Radio where she presents the weekend evening slots.
Headliner: Andrew O'Neill
Andrew O'Neill is an award-winning comedian, musician and best-selling writer. A psychedelic non-binary whirlwind, they combine surrealism, polemic and good old-fashioned stagecraft to produce uniquely counter-cultural stand-up. Andrew has performed in over a dozen different countries, at over a hundred different festivals and is equally at home in rowdy comedy clubs as performing to their own cult following. They co-wrote and starred in Radio 4's occult sitcom Damned Andrew. They are author of the book 'A History of Heavy Metal', described by living legend Alan Moore as "A comprehensive landmark analysis of an enormous area of music that has been too long without such a thing, and has the massive advantage of the funny being turned up to twelve. A loud and thoroughly engrossing love-story".
TV credits include Good Omens 2 (Summer 2023), Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Saxondale, 50 Years Of Rock Excess, The Blame Game, Spicks and Specks and Good News Week. Their own Radio 4 stand-up show Pharmacist Baffler won an award. A natural fit at musical festivals, they have performed stand-up at Glastonbury, Download, Leeds and Reading, Bloodstock, Latitude, V-Fest and supported Amanda Palmer, Les Claypool and once even the Kaiser Chiefs at the London Palladium.
They are a founder member of the Victorian-obsessed punk band The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing, whose distinctive anachro-punk gained a cult following and besmirched the stages of music festivals worldwide. O'Neill has written and toured a shit-tonne of critically-acclaimed solo comedy shows, including Occult Comedian, Winston Churchill Was Jack The Ripper, MINDSPIDERS, Alternative, Andrew O'Neill is Easily Distracted and the current Andrew O'Neill's Black Magick Fun Hour.
