There's A Hidden Ramen Bar Inside Of A West London Grocery Store

A bowl of Ramen and Japanese side dishes.

Robin's Ramen keeps a tightly curated menu.

Hidden bars and speakeasies might be everywhere in London right now, but one under-the-radar gem in Notting Hill is taking the idea of secret dining somewhere entirely new—behind the aisles of a busy grocery store. By day, Supermarket of Dreams sells high-end produce and specialty pantry items, but at lunch and dinner, the aisles are swapped out for a long communal table that transforms the space into a new kind of dining experience.

What Is Robin's Ramen?

Robin's Ramen is a ramen residency currently housed inside of Supermarket of Dreams, led by Robin Kosuge, the former junior sous chef of the Michelin-starred, Dorian. With minimal signage and a communal, dinner-party atmosphere, it offers an intimate setting to enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine.

What Is On The Menu?

The menu is tight and focused, with ramen taking the centre stage. Standouts include the classic pork belly, chicken, and the uniquely inventive pistachio matcha ramen.

Rotating specials like the Dorian sirloin or Lake District lamb add a bit of variety, while small plates and sides, from tuna tartare to pork and crab gyoza, complement the bowls. Dessert is a single ice cream offering (currently Okinawa Black Sugar, yum!) and drinks include wines, sake, and seasonal cocktails.
