London Roundup: 9 Things To See, Do, Eat & Drink This April

Clean your face from this year’s Easter festivities and get spruced up for an April like no other. There are some epic comebacks in store this month - like the return of Neverland (London’s very own sandy beach) and immersive experts Gingerline where you can dine in a hot air balloon. Not to mention the new opening of Los Mochis and a bubbly show by Searcys where you can upskill your next party trick by learning to pop open Champers with an actual sword. We promise you this month will be anything but boring (just try not lose a thumb while wielding any sharp objects).

Two Drops: Visit The New Cheese Toastie Bar In Battersea Power Station

Opens: 26th April

It doesn't matter what kind of weather you're dealing with or what time of day it is, we're of the belief that there's never a bad time to have a cheese toastie. Two Drops (who you can already find in King's Cross) are spreading their baps to the south and they're causing quite the stir with the menu. You'll find Marmite, salt beef with gherkin, and haddock amongst the fillings, alongside plenty of French Jurarégal cheese gluing them all together. Fried chicken and roast potatoes are made to order too. For dessert, expect more toasty madness with caramelised banana and hazelnut ready to satisfy your sweet tooth. To wash it all down? Pints of Guinness, cocktails and plenty of beers on tap.

When you ask anyone about London’s must-visit restaurants, rest assured that Fallow will fall from the mouths of anyone who has good taste. This April, the team are working on a new venture that will see them put their stamp on Canary Wharf. Roe will be a nose-to-tail concept focusing on underappreciated produce and if the magic they created at Fallow is anything to go by, you know your mouth will be in good hands. There will be a chef’s table, a terrace overlooking the canal and a green wall system where you’ll find all sorts sprouting, from Padron peppers to seasonal herbs. When 22nd April rolls around, you know where we'll be.

BAM Karaoke: Sing 'Angel' By Shaggy In Europe's Largest Karaoke Bar

Opens: 19th April

Step away from your hairbrush and stop singing into your bottle of Elvive. BAM Karaoke - Europe’s largest karaoke bar - is coming to London and it’s bringing the art of singing in front of your friends to the next level. Expect 18th-century extravagance with some very funky interior design, 22 private rooms and a chance to relive your entire performance the next day with some high-tech recordings that get dropped into your inbox. Although we’re not entirely convinced we want to see ourselves crucify Shaggy’s ‘Angel’, we are sure that we want to drink Champagne in their cocktail bar BAM BAM and sing some tunes to let our bangs down.

Los Mochis: See Why The Second Los Mochis Is Just As Good As The First

Opens: 11th April

Rooftop season is almost here (goodbye thermal vests) and although we have some pretty fantastic skywards hangouts in our London directory, we’d never shy away from welcoming another. Los Mochis has wowed the masses in Notting Hill with some pretty incredible Japanese and Mexican fusions and it’s taking its creations upwards this April with their brand new opening in Liverpool Street. Jump in the elevator so you can zoom to the ninth floor for tuna poke tostaditos and wagyu carne tataki with a view of London’s skyline at no extra cost.

They were a huge hit back in 2018 and after zero news from the team since the pandemic, we thought that was it. But Gingerline are back in 2024 with their immersive dining experience that wowed the minds of thousands. The storyline will see you travelling the world in a gigantic hot air balloon with 360-degree animated projections, puppetry, mind-boggling circus acts, seamless choreography, and four courses of amazing dishes across 90 minutes. SUSHISAMBA: Zoom 40 Floors Up To Check Out London's New Sky Bar

Opens: April

You might know SUSHISAMBA for its, well, sushi, but it’s upping the ante this month with a brand-new bar. The iconic restaurant on the 39th floor of Heron Tower is ascending one more level, creating an exclusive space and lounge where your cocktails will be served with East London following you around the room like the Mona Lisa. There will be a mirrored walkway that’s guaranteed to look good on camera, a gilded canopy entrance, and if you have the excuse, you can always book out the space for a private dinner. The theatrics won't stop at the view either - you'll dine from a table that gets lowered from the ceiling above.
