If you're in pursuit of some high-adrenaline action, then TeamSport Go Karting at London Docklands is for you. This indoor activity boasts a whopping 800-metre, multi-level track for you to zoom around on in petrol Biz Evo3 Karts that can reach speeds of up to 40mph. In addition to racing, the South East venue is also equipped with a Putt Crazy Golf Club, sporting nine motor-themed holes that you can play after you've refuelled with some scrumptious pizzas and hot dogs.

Gravity, Wandsworth

Get ready to pretend you're Ryan Gosling and drive your way around a neon-lit track with e-karting at Gravity. Here you'll find 36 electric vehicles raring to go and you can take them to the tarmac twice from just £28.50 per person, or bag 3 for 2 every Wednesday and Sunday. While this venue doesn't come equipped with a bar, it prides itself on being only a couple of minutes' walk from some top-quality pubs, like The Crown.

Capital Karts, Canary Wharf

Capital Karts is the indoor circuit you need to know about with a 45mph speed limit and a super smooth track. Race over 800 metres with up to 20 drivers at a time - perfect for group days out and birthday parties. The average lap time is 55 seconds, with 18 corners to bolt around and a world-class timing system, incase you're keeping score. Races start from £26 per person and there are helpings of stone-baked pizza to munch on to regain your energy at its onsite cafe.

Karting Nation, Mile End

If you're an adrenaline seeker and accelerating up to 50mph in four seconds sounds thrilling to you, then head to Mile End's Karting Nation. Nighttime racing is welcome here, thanks to its floodlights and fabulous covered viewing area for friends and family to cheer you on. Packages start from £42.99 each and include winners' trophies and bubbly. For a mini Grand Prix Elite state of affairs, you can exclusively hire the track for groups of over eight from £79.99.

Rye House, Hoddesdon

Only a 36-minute train ride out of London is the Lewis Hamilton-endorsed raceway, Rye House. It's a perfect introduction to motorsport with a circuit that's one of the oldest in the world, having hosted international meetings and seen top drivers grace its tracks. Enrol in the Rye House Driver's Club which offers separate championships for adults and juniors where trophies and lap time certificates are up for grabs. Or, simply book an individual session or general hire experience at the place where it all began for the fresh face of Ferrari.

Daytona Sandown Park, Esher

What would you say if we told you that the likes of Brad Pritt, Hugh Grant and Fernando Alonso have frequented the tracks at the Motor Sport Association-approved track, Daytona Sandown Park? You'd book a session immediately, of course. Located in Surrey (not quite London, we know) and just off the M25, its 900-metre track consists of eight corners and two straights. It's also played host to a wealth of TV shows and digital commercials; think Netflix, Porsche and more.
