FAQ:
What is Brazilian barbecue (churrasco)?
Brazilian barbecue - known as churrasco - is a style of cooking where skewered meats are slow‑roasted over open flames. Servers, or passadores, carve freshly grilled cuts directly onto your plate, often in an all‑you‑can‑eat format called rodízio.
Are Brazilian barbecue restaurants in London all‑you‑can‑eat?
Almost all of them use the rodízio model, meaning you pay a fixed price and enjoy unlimited meat. Many also include salad bars, hot buffets, and Brazilian side dishes.
How does the green/red card system work at rodizios?
You’ll usually receive a two‑sided card:
- Green = bring the meat
- Red = stop or take a break
Do these restaurants offer vegetarian or vegan options?
While churrasco is meat‑focused, many London rodízio restaurants include salad bars, rice, beans, fried cassava, grilled veggies, and Brazilian dishes like farofa or feijoada. However, full vegan meals may vary - it's best to check ahead.
Do I need to book in advance?
Most popular spots - especially on weekends - get busy. Booking is recommended to avoid long waits.
What’s the typical price range in London?
Prices vary, but most rodízio dinners fall between £25 - £45 per person, depending on location, menu variety, and weekend vs. weekday service.
