'The branches of the Astral Corridor weave through time and space, echoing fractured realities once thought forgotten. The archivists of the Black Archives work tirelessly to catalogue these tales, reaching into the furthest depths of the corridor to glimpse what can never be.’

Black Archives is a TTRPG story spotlight event, as our house GMs weave tales from across the multiverse. These original stories are self-contained and setting-agnostic, intended for both experienced and newer players. We'll be featuring a variety of indie TTRPG systems alongside our regular D&D5E offerings!

Each session will feature it's own unique system and requirements, so be sure to read the full event description before ordering.

Tonight, the tales you can expect to uncover are:

SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH THE WIZARDS! (HOUSE GM: GILLI)

SYSTEM: A Familiar Problem
THE STORY: A group of adventuring Wizards have been travelling the realm, desperately searching for a legendary Mage who they believe can finally grant them the knowledge and power they require. You are the beloved animal familiars of the Wizards, who don’t really understand what’s happening, and are honestly just along for the ride (and the snacks), But something terrible seems to have happened to your humans overnight…and now the only ones who can save them…are you.

PRE-GENS PROVIDED?: Yes, and rules will be taught at the table

CONTENT WARNINGS: Illness, Snakes, Peril, Madness, Animal Endangerment (Specifically no animal death).

LOST SOULS (HOUSE GM: TIBET)

SYSTEM: Lost Souls (An untested custom TTRPG demo)
THE STORY: This system is an untested, in-development system demo from house GM Tibet Boyer. Players awaken in a grim-dark surrealist world, without identity, abilities, or purpose and together must discover who they are and what they can do while surviving in a broken world. This new test run is inspired by the world of Vermis.

PRE-GENS PROVIDED?: Building the character is part of the game!

CONTENT WARNINGS: Memory Loss, Dread, Violence, Gore.

All players who attend our events must read and agree to our Code of Conduct. By playing at the Arcanist's Tavern you agree to abide by the terms of our Code of Conduct at all times.
Please note, all sessions begin at 6:30 promptly. If you arrive after games have begun, there is no guarantee that we will be able to seat you at a table.

Great fun if you're into things like Dungeons & Dragons, Lord of the Rings or Baldur’s Gate 3. But also really accessible if you've never touched TTRPG's! They explain all the rules as the show goes on - and let the audience decide dice rolls too!
