Looks like Nas is bringing his New York state of mind to London’s dining scene.
The rapper turned restaurateur first partnered up with John Seymour in 2013 to launch Sweet Chick in Brooklyn. Now, they have successful outposts in New York, LA and their first London restaurant in Oxford Circus launches this month.
Sweet Chick pride themselves on spreading love, ‘the Brooklyn way’ with their neon sign paying homage to the Notorious B.I.G hanging on the wall. Dishes that have made it across the Atlantic include Southern-inspired classics such as biscuits and gravy, shrimp and grits and mac 'n' cheese. Of course there is all the fried chicken and waffles a hungry guest could ask for, with juicy fillets brined overnight in a sweet tea-stained coating.
To wash it all down, gulp on signature mixes like the Tiger, Tiger Wood Y’all, made from bourbon, cognac, lemon, honey and iced tea, or the namesake Sweet Chick with vodka, triple-sec, watermelon and lemon. If beer is more your thing, Sweet Chick have paired up with London Fields Brewery for a few exclusives that are yet to be revealed.
