Looks like Nas is bringing his New York state of mind to London’s dining scene.
The rap superstar turned restaurateur is set to take over Carluccio’s former Market Place site with his American comfort food concept Sweet Chick. While everything is still subject to legal completion, it seems highly likely the restaurant will be able to add the Oxford Street location to their impressive collection across LA and, of course, NYC.
Sweet Chick pride themselves on spreading love, ‘the Brooklyn way’ with their menu of soul food such as shrimp and grits, pan fried catfish and the classic red eye chicken and waffles. Their current sites also serve attractive brunch offerings with chilaquiles, ricotta pancakes and breakfast burritos alongside an ample cocktail list.
While it's unclear what will make it across the Atlantic, we’re hoping to see aptly named cocktails, numb numb juice, the love below and Tiger Tiger Wood y'all pop up on the bar menu, just for you hip-hop fans out there.
