What they say:

Cafe Pistou has now closed.

There has been much deliberation over what exact shade of pastel perfectly represents the rustic chic of Provence. Legend has it that Exmouth Market locals have been hearing blood-curdling screams of 'LILAC?! HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?' and 'SALMON...GET OUT YOU LUNATIC' for weeks. Finally, they hit on that perfect colour and are now readying themselves for sophisticated saunterers and manic moochers alike. Advertising themselves as an 'all day cafe', expect a menu of share-able authentic Provençal cuisine curated by Cooking in Provence author Alex Mackay.

What we say:

Café Pistou brings its own personal charm to this delightful area; peaking out from between the quirky and quaint independent design shops, book shops, bars and cafes of the exceedingly pleasant Exmouth Market. It speaks of days spent sunning yourself on rocks and eating the best Provençal cured meats in the South of France. With former CAO and Gaucho managing director Charlie McLean at the helm, this lovely eatery sure to be a resounding success.
