1. The Ivy Asia - Now Open

The Ivy Asia Dublin has officially landed, bringing a bold, pan-Asian flair to the heart of the city. Located just moments from Trinity College, St Stephen’s Green, and the National Museum of Ireland, this is the Ivy Group’s first international opening, and it does not disappoint. From the moment you step inside, opulent interiors, dramatic design, and vibrant energy set the stage for a dining experience that feels as much like a night out as it does a meal.

It offers an expansive menu designed to thrill every palate. From delicate sashimi such as yellowtail kingfish and tuna aashimi, to inventive rolls like the Ivy Asia volcano roll and prawn tempura roll, each dish balances artistry with bold flavours. For mains, you can indulge in show-stopping plates including lobster rendang, char siu pork belly, and Kingsbury Irish wagyu sirloin.

2. Gloria Osteria - Coming Soon

Big Mamma, the restaurant group renowned for its exuberant Italian trattorias, is set to open its first Irish location later this year in Dublin city centre. Gloria Dublin will take over Westmoreland Street as a 180-seater osteria inspired by the glamour and charm of 1970s Italy.

Known for their very photogenic interiors, homemade dishes, and direct partnerships with 170 Italian producers, Big Mamma promises to bring a joyful, flavour-packed experience to Dublin’s dining scene. The menu will offer Italian classics with creative twists, from fresh pastas to wood-fired pizzas, served in a cool, retro-inspired setting.

3. Wagamama - Now Open

  • Location: Liffey Valley and Dundrum 
  • Cuisine: Asian

This much-loved Asian-inspired restaurant is making a sizzling return to the Irish food scene: the grand opening of its new Liffey Valley location in late June will be followed closely by a second launch in Dundrum this August. 

This marks just the beginning of Wagamama’s Irish revival, with plans for additional openings across Ireland already in motion. From the iconic chicken katsu curry to the fiery chilli chicken ramen and sizzling yaki soba, the menu is packed with crowd-pleasers made fresh to order.

4. HAWKER -  Now Open

Lower Camden Street’s coolest Chinese restaurant just got a sibling, and she’s ready to turn heads. Hang Dai, known for its futuristic interiors, cult prawn toast, and late-night soundtrack, has unveiled its latest venture: Hawker, a modern street food joint opening on Rathgar Road in Rathmines. 

Inside, co-owner Will Dempsey and designer Toby Hatchett have channelled the energy of their recent trip to Hong Kong into the look and feel - think curved ceilings, natural bamboo touches, and a gold birdcage logo that nods to the street vendors who inspired the concept.

Executive chef Thiago Guerra has brought together a team of Chinese chefs to create a line-up of playful, flavour-packed dishes designed for sharing (or hoarding all to yourself). Expect cheeseburger spring rolls with Sichuan ketchup, cumin-spiced Xinjiang lamb skewers, and a crisp-coated Iberico sweet and sour pork with charred pineapple that reinvents a classic. There’s Grandma’s red-braised short ribs, wok-fried Singapore noodles with prawn and chilli, and a Hawker spice box loaded with street food favourites.

1. Comet - Now Open

Dublin’s dining scene has a new star. After months of anticipation, Kevin O’Donnell and Laura Chabal’s Comet has finally touched down on Joshua Lane, just off Dawson Street. O’Donnell, who sharpened his skills at Bastible before gaining New Nordic credentials at Copenhagen’s Kadeau, brings a seasonal, produce-first philosophy to the table.

Early plates showcase bright summer flavours — think peas and broad beans singing in harmony - while the roast quail on toast is already being whispered about as one of the dishes of the year.

2. Kaldero - Now Open

  • Location: Unit 4B, King Street South, St Stephen's Green, Dublin 2, D02 HD30
  • Cuisine: Irish Filipino

Kaldero on South King Street has officially relaunched under the full culinary and creative direction of chef Richie Castillo and food writer Alex O’Neill, the duo behind the acclaimed Irish-Filipino pop-up, Bahay. Now open as Dublin’s first Irish-Filipino restaurant, the eatery blends regional Filipino flavours with Irish ingredients and open-fire cooking, offering a bold, deeply personal menu rooted in Richie’s bicultural upbringing, with Michelin-starred talent Ben Lozada joining the team as sous chef.

Signature dishes include sizzling sisig with soy-cured egg yolk, lamb ribs glazed in humba, and grilled chicken marinated in banana ketchup and 7Up. The drinks list is just as inspired, featuring Filipino staples like calamansi, pandan, and muscovado.

3. Hera - Now Open

Nestled on Dorset Street Lower, HERA is a modern gastropub that reimagines the classic Irish pub experience. Housed in a beautifully restored 200-year-old building, the interior blends mid-century charm with contemporary flair, such as olive leather banquettes, walnut wood accents, and eclectic artwork that creates an inviting atmosphere.

Led by acclaimed chef Joe Smith, formerly of Bastible, HERA's menu offers inventive dishes that showcase the best of Irish ingredients with a Mediterranean twist. Highlights include Carlingford oysters torched tableside with smoked butter, chorizo Scotch eggs, and a rich pumpkin and Toonsbridge scamorza lasagna. Vegetarian options like the aubergine schnitzel and brown butter miso tart add to the diverse offerings.

4. Vada - Now Open

Vada is Dublin’s new dining hotspot, where bold flavours meet cool, contemporary style. Nestled in the heart of the city, Vada dazzles with its sleek, modern interiors like chic industrial vibes softened by warm lighting, lush greenery, and artistic touches that make every corner Instagram-ready.

Behind the scenes, a passionate team of chefs crafts a menu that’s as inventive as it is delicious, celebrating fresh, locally sourced ingredients with a twist. 5. Variety Jones - Now Open

Family-owned, Michelin-starred restaurant Variety Jones has recently opened a new restaurant, located on Thomas Street. They originally opened in 2018, receiving its Michelin star within the first year, and opened a second site next door in 2023, though tragically this burnt down just days later.

They haven't been deterred though, as they're back open as of January 2025. They serve chef's choice sharing menus, featuring six delicious courses, with sample dishes including duck liver parfait, celeriac noodles with scallops and spaghetti alfredo.

6. Lena - Now Open

  • Location: 1 Windsor Terrace, Portobello, Dublin 8, D08 HT20
  • Cuisine: Italian

Irish eatery Locks is having a makeover to become a neighbourhood Italian restaurant under the name of Lena. Due to open in February, the spot is a combination of Simon Barrett and Liz Matthews (Uno Mas and Etto) teaming up with Lock's chef and co-owner Paul MacNamara.

What to expect? The same elegant, canalside dining in the heart of Portobello but with plenty more fresh pasta dishes and exceptional wines.

Out of all the new restaurants Dublin has to offer, this one will be packed full of rich Italian flavours. 

7. China Tang - Now Open

  • Location: 5A Monkstown Cresent, Dún Laoghaire, Monkstown, Co. Dublin, A94 WE02
  • Cuisine: Cantonese

Located in the Monkstown area of Dublin, China Tang is a new Chinese restaurant that specialises in modern Cantonese cuisine. It's brought to you by the team behind Hakkahan in Stoneybatter, a popular Sichuan eatery.

As well as a wide variety of carefully crafted dishes, you can expect a variety of enticing signature cockails, to enjoy in stylish, deep red interiors that are filled with Asian-inspired artwork.

8. Picado - Now Open

  • Location: 44A Richmond Street South, Saint Kevin's, Dublin 2
  • Cuisine: Mexican

The second site from Lily Ramirez-Foran and husband Alan, Picado on Cork Street will be opening its doors very soon. The food store and cookery school best known for their masterclasses in authentic Mexican cuisine, and they larger, improved kitchen at their new venue will make these even better.

As well as cooking classes and supper clubs, you can expect a production kitchen with plans to launch Ireland's first Mexican Molino, alongside a coffee bar offering solely Mexican drinks and a shop space where you can buy their delicious products to take home.

9. Forêt - Now Open

Forêt is a classic French Bistro that opened in the autumn of 2024 with John and Sandy Wyer (Forest Avenue, Little Forest and Una) at its core. It can be found perched in Dubliin 4 above M.O'Brien's pub serving a laid-back tasting menu made with the finest ingredients, sourced from local producers. 

The chicken liver parfait with fig chutney offers a rich and tangy start to your meal, followed by a rump of beef au poivre with pommes frites, Comeragh mountain lamb, and halibut grenobloise with artichoke purée. Make sure you save room for the croissant pudding - the Calvados caramel and custard make for an incredibly indulgent end to a terrific meal.

10. Rei Momo - Now Open

  • Location: 56 Drury Street, Dublin, D02 HT29, Ireland

Drury Street has had a serious dose of South American sunshine. Taking over the space once home to Bootleg, Rei Momo - named after the king of carnival himself - has opened its doors with a Brazilian wood grill and Caipirinha bar.

Running as a pop-up from March through May, and now a permanent fixture, Rei Momo is all about big flavours, smoky fires and good times. Expect classic Caipirinhas being muddled at the bar, platters of grilled meat cooked over wood fire, and a menu that mixes Brazilian staples with modern twists. One of the highlights? Their Sunday Feijoada feasts - a slow-cooked black bean and meat stew that’s as hearty as it is iconic. Designed to be shared family-style, it’s the perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon with friends, Caipirinha in hand.
