Restaurants Opening In Dublin In 2025 

Lena - Opening February 2025 

Irish eatery Locks is having a makeover to become a neighbourhood Italian restaurant under the name of Lena. Due to open in February, the spot is a combination of Simon Barrett and Liz Matthews (Uno Mas and Etto) teaming up with Lock's chef and co-owner Paul MacNamara.

What to expect? The same elegant, canalside dining in the heart of Portobello but with plenty more fresh pasta dishes and exceptional wines.

Out of all the new restaurants Dublin has to offer, this one will be packed full of rich Italian flavours. 

China Tang - Opening February 2025

Located in the Monkstown area of Dublin, China Tang is a new Chinese restaurant that specialises in modern Cantonese cuisine. It's brought to you by the team behind Hakkahan in Stoneybatter, a popular Sichuan eatery.

As well as a wide variety of carefully crafted dishes, you can expect a variety of enticing signature cockails, to enjoy in stylish, deep red interiors that are filled with Asian-inspired artwork.

Picado - Coming Soon

The second site from Lily Ramirez-Foran and husband Alan, Picado on Cork Street will be opening its doors very soon. The food store and cookery school best known for their masterclasses in authentic Mexican cuisine, and they larger, improved kitchen at their new venue will make these even better.

As well as cooking classes and supper clubs, you can expect a production kitchen with plans to launch Ireland's first Mexican Molino, alongside a coffee bar offering solely Mexican drinks and a shop space where you can buy their delicious products to take home.

French Revolution - Coming Soon 

Satisfy your sweet treat cravings with decadent choux pastry filled with cream. The French Revolution is all about that, and they're touching down in Dublin in 2025.

The Romanian chain will serve indulgent eclairs in various flavours from coffee to salted caramel and beyond. When the patisserie opens its doors, be sure to venture down for a frothy cappuccino and a box of these bad boys and thank us later.

TANG - Opening Spring 2025

Popular Dublin café-restaurant group TANG are opening their fourth venue in 2025, coming to Windmill Lane this spring. From breakfast to lunch and dinner, these guys are all about hearty sustainable dishes that are full of flavour - as well as top-notch hospitality.

They're committed to making a positive impact, both on the local community and the environment. As for the menu, expect the likes of lamb kofta with Moroccan tomatoes, halloumi in harissa yoghurt and mushroom shawarma, as well as brunch plates like shakshuka or pancakes.

Restaurants Opening In Dublin In 2024 

Stuertudo - Now Open 

Taking the place of John Farrell's Dillinger in Ranelagh only a couple of weeks after closing is his latest venture Stuertudo. Farrell is no stranger to Mexican cuisine as his contemporary spot 777 in Dublin 2 is a firm favourite, however, Stuertudo (whose name translates as 'lucky one') is a different beast entirely. 

It's all about bold and vibrant plates, inspired by authentic flavours from Oaxaca and Jalisco paired with premium agave spirits. Look forward to the likes of taco de asada, quesadilla de Camarón, Acapulco ceviche and more - plus the decor is minimal, with warm neutral tones and potted cacti, making for a great date night destination.

One of the hottest restaurants in Dublin opened its doors in November 2024. 

ONE Ballsbridge Bar & Restaurant - Now Open 

Oliver Dunne Restaurants (made up of Michelin star chef Oliver Dunne and Aidan Crowe) has opened a new venue in Dublin 4, celebrating 'conscious gastronomy and culinary creativity'. ONE Ballsbridge Bar & Restaurant is made up of four dining rooms on the ground floor and a bar on the first, boasting DJs on the weekend and match screenings. 

To top it all off, on the tenth floor you'll find panoramic views of Dublin Bay thanks to The ONE Sky Garden, which is available for private hire only. Food-wise, you can expect to be chowing down on plates of burnt leek and Wicklow cheddar croquettes, Glenmalure Valley venison, and Angus beef burgers.

Unicorn - Now Open 

One of the most exciting new restaurants in Dublin city centre is Unicorn on Merrion Row, this time with chef Kristan Burness at the helm. The classy spot serves classic Italian cuisine paired with an extensive wine list, fronting group dining menus as well as a delicious a la carte. 

Take a peek at its charming alfresco terrace, pull up a chair and dive into signature plates like wild mushroom and truffle risotto, and hake fillet served with a spiced calamari croquetta. 

Kaldero - Now Open 

The high-end Asian eatery Kaldero has taken over a former Wagamama building by St Stephens Green to bring the culinary traditions of India, China and the Phillippines.

The menu is created by three talented chefs, Richie Castillo, Daren Liew, and Alfred Prasad (India's youngest chef to be awarded a Michelin star), and is designed to be shared. Think crispy jackfruit chicken, grilled scallops in black bean chilli butter, and Malaysian laksa beef with burnt orka.

Forêt - Now Open 

Forêt is a classic French Bistro that opened in the autumn of 2024 with John and Sandy Wyer (Forest Avenue, Little Forest and Una) at its core. It can be found perched in Dubliin 4 above M.O'Brien's pub serving a laid-back tasting menu made with the finest ingredients, sourced from local producers. 

The chicken liver parfait with fig chutney offers a rich and tangy start to your meal, followed by a rump of beef au poivre with pommes frites, Comeragh mountain lamb, and halibut grenobloise with artichoke purée. Make sure you save room for the croissant pudding - the Calvados caramel and custard make for an incredibly indulgent end to a terrific meal.
