Whether you like your Martini with a dollop of peanut butter or something a little more chilled out like a Cuba Libre, this city centre restaurant is an ideal choice for eating and drinking without breaking the bank. You can even soak it all up with nachos and platters.

For live music and cheap drinks head down to Porter's where a bottles of beer and glasses of wine can be grabbed for low prices. Alongside the low prices, the little bar hosts great live events such as open mic night and a good ol' fashioned pub quiz.

The Gatekeeper

The Holy Grail of cheap drinking; a place revered by bargain booze hunters the land over, it is of course Wetherspoon's. The Gatekeeper is close to the city centre, near the Principality Stadium and has loads of drinks at affordable prices, as well as a huge selection of beers and ales.

Any pub that bills itself as 'Cardiff's first why pay more pub' is in the serious business of cheap drinks in the city centre. Head there before seven when drinks are even cheaper; we're talking £2-a-pint kinda cheap.
