Brighton's Grill Specialists Set To Open All-Day Bar With Small Plates And Cocktails

Burnt Orange

Opens

June 2021

Blurring the line between restaurant and bar comes a new dining destination in The Lanes, Burnt Orange. The day-to-evening hangout comes from the chargrill connoisseurs behind acclaimed Brighton hotspots, The Salt Room and The Coal Shed – so you know you’re in for something special.

Having found its home in a former coach house on Middle Street, the venue showcases its original 16th century features alongside contemporary interior design, with brilliantly comfy chairs to keep you going all night. Want to soak in the sun? The eatery boasts a courtyard terrace for delightful alfresco dining and daytime drinks. And when it comes to music, expect a playlist devised by local legend Fatboy Slim. So, whether you pop in for a coffee in the day or a boozy bev in the evening, the good vibes will be flowing.

With former The Salt Room chef at the kitchen’s helm, Burnt Orange’s menu follows in its big sisters’ footsteps. You’ll find wood-fired fare, delicious cured meats and fresh fish abound. However, it leans more towards casual dining, with plenty of small plates and nibbles, ideal for sharing with friends; highlights include the pork belly shwarma and smoked stone bass crudo. As for drinks, you can nurse tasty cocktails late into the night, as well as quality wine and beer.
