They begged Les Dennis for his seal of approval, and failed. Nevertheless, Cease & Desist has opened in Brighton with its wicked sense of humor in tact, stating, "We stand for the freedom to do what you want and the challenge of conventions. We welcome all in our bar and do not discriminate. That being said, hen parties can f*ck right off."

The dive bar housed on Middle Street may not have been able to fulfil its dream of being called the Les Dennis Lounge (despite creating a whole pub based around the Family Fortunes star) but they venture on, with plenty of other celebrity memorabilia lining the walls so he is no longer alone.

Offering a menu of American-style whiskey and greasy food, Cease & Desist is open till late, with regular live music and a feel-good spirit that the ex-Corrie actor couldn’t even damped. If you still want to pay homage, there is the bittersweet Les Dennis cocktail that comes with a free mask to wear as you’re drinking.
